Season opens here very soon, after deer hunting is over. Was wondering if any other wackbaggers are into sledding?

I've watched the races on ESPN before but have never seen one in person. They look like a lot of fun. Sadly we don't get enough snow here to be able to ride one.

Rode a little in Montana, it was fun. But just too expensive to be realistic for me.

Oh yeah it's a blast. Tons of trails where I live. Living in Western NY usually has bad winters, but great for sledding. It is an expensive hobby haha

I sold my sled in the spring. Got tired of all my friends not getting their shit together and keeping up on their sleds. I was always towing someone home and throwing my back out when they got stuck. Plus, not every winter was like the last one.

Decided to leave the sport. Still have 2 ATVs though.

EDIT: Actually, one of my friends still has his 98 MXZ sitting in my backyard where it blew the top end last year. I am telling him get it out of here or I own it!

Love to watch the snowmobile racing. But, sadly due to spinal injuries will never get to enjoy riding one.

Yep... I go up to the Adirondaks/sacandaga lake region on the weekends... couple hours south of you I'm guessing. I have a late 90s Polaris that my cousin keeps for me up there (also a yamaha warrior ATV which was my prized possession as a kid)

Once the Lake is frozen over its pretty wild. You can literally hold the throttle wide open for miles. Of course every year a couple of people bite it and fall through the ice... but that just adds to the thrill of riding there.

i had a skidoo 800 something a few years ago. i went up to vermont to ride it with 2 friends that also bought new sleds. we're flying around the trails and my friend slams his sled head on into a guy coming the other way, 8000 worth of damage on a sled he just paid 9500 for. fucking thing didn't have 75 miles on it, i never laughed so hard. he didn't want to go through insurance so he paid to get the thing fixed. i think we rode them twice after that and sold them earlier this year.
