I caught it too, love that this phrase keeps getting mentioned in Pop Culture. It makes me feel like less and less of a tool when I use it.

Fortunately, XMScott was here and he brought his trailer full of attitude and an industrial size bottle of buzz kill super-strength formula to put an end to any such pleasure and keep everyone here in XMScott's world of self loathing and anger projection.

They say it started being used in 2003 but I remember hearing it way back in the 70s and 80s. It's a very old saying.
