Fall Out Boy
I've gotten into discussions with people before about emo bands. It's fine if you hate some of these bands, but a lot of the bands most people consider "emo" these days aren't really emo. Like Fallout Boy is really more pop-punk, although they have emo influences.

Metallica - fucking whiny bitches
I can't even name any emo bands other than Fallout Boy.
How do you compare flavors of shit?
It's like punk if you gave them slightly more talent and alot less balls.

The Cure. Nine Inch Nails possibly, as a VERY angry emo band

can't listen to emo music really. Nothing as extreme as NIN either. It puts me at risk for having a psychotic break, that's what my therapist told me. Bi Polar sucks large monkey testicles

Nine Inch Nails? Mindless Self Indulgence? Yeesh. Too many people here are too out of touch to even know what emo is, let alone list why they hate it.
Fall Out Boy is probably the worst, followed closely by Panic! at the Disco. Most emo bands are actually changing their sound / image to be less emo. The trend is dying, finally.

Saosin. End of discussion.
My Chemical Romance, as well as The Used
Neither are really emo. The Used is post-hardcore. MCR was never really emo, they were more pop-punk, but have since really moved towards a more mainstream rock sound.....well, let me strike that, "mainstream rock" these days is dogshit like Nickelback or Hinder, what I mean is, it's more of a standard rock sound. I mean, hell, their last album had some songs where you could tell there was a pretty heavy Queen influence.

I find it curious that you chastise others for miscategorizing groups as emo in your first paragraph, then miscategorize yourself in the second. Panic! isn't emo either, they're more pop punk.
This is the issue I have. People label a lot of shit as "emo". Well, most of these bands aren't emo. Groups like fucking Hawthorne Heights are emo. What most of you hate are pop-punk bands.
Saosin. End of discussion.
Again. They're at best screamo, but they'd also fit in post-hardcore.
Look, emo bands don't scream. Post-hardcore & screamo bands do.
Although in your defense, if you heard a Saosin song like "You're Not Alone", I can see where the confusion would come in.

I've heard a lot of Saosin songs, my wife fucking loves them for some reason. They're emo. Even if you say they're screamo, that's still a division of emo. Thus, still making them the shittiest emo band.
I do agree with the MCR/Queen thing. Except they don't have the same ability to make it work as well as Queen did.

Rise Against.
Lock it up.
I don't think I would consider Rise Against an emo band.
I would vote for My Chemical Romance and Alkaline Trio

Mmmm, I'll meet you halfway and go pop-punk with serious emo leanings / stylings. If we want to be EXTREMELY pedantic we should also exclude the first wave emocore bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace (U.S.) and second wave indie acts like Sunny Day Real Estate, Superchunk, and Failure, since their sound has very little in common with what's considered emo today. What we now perceive as "emo" started to gel together as a scene around '99 / 2000.
That's part of why the scene is so near death: the 3rd wave emo groups have either watered down their sound to generic-ish pop-punk or else switched to another genre entirely like MCR and Panic! did that the music has little identity left and the word "emo" has become a cartoonish catch-all for anything overly sad. That, and all the original 3rd wave emo / screamo kids went off to college and deleted their old MySpace accounts to start anew. Same thing that happened to all the goths, really.
