I went to the studio today, and that's how he introduces himself:

"Hi, I'm executive intern David"

While interviewing the audience for potential guests, we were all busting his chops pretty good. He couldn't understand why, and just shook his head in confusion. His persona most definitely is not a bit.

Later, during RnF, Ant sent him out for some beer. When he returned, Ant had entered the studio to sit in on the show. He walked all over the studio looking for Anthony. I told him he was on the air, and that Anthony had instructed me to tell him to walk right in with the beer when he got back because he was thirsty. He said "Oh, OK", and barged right in on the show.
He will believe almost anything you tell him.

He was quite dejected after being scolded for buying the wrong beer again.

David tries really hard, and I hope he is around for a long time.

It feels like something weird is going on with the show. It can be textbook O & A for hours- where everything is flowing good, there's good conversation, calls, and great laughs. And then something happens, and they seem to intentionally put the brakes on the show and drag ass to the finish line.

I'm curious...how did you ever become enough of an O&A to end up on fan site if doing a break where they replay something that happened on the show the day before is replayed and commented on bothers you so much? Because in the WNEW days they would spend an entire show replaying that segment and commenting on it. Hell if they had one of their major events like the Homeless Shopping Spree they would spend an entire week replaying clips of it and commenting on it. This is not a new phenomenon on the show. They actually spend significantly less time doing it now then they ever did in the past.

Everyone wants the show to be 5 hours of only the material they like. But everyone likes different types of material that the show touches on. It's never going to be 5 hours that appeal to everyone.

This thread is about a specific part of the show that in total probably takes up less than an hour (or at worst, two hours) a week. If you really wanted to break down the money you were spending specifically on the My David segments, it'd amount to pennies.

There are lackluster scenes in brilliant movies and bad tracks from great bands. I don't know why people hold radio hosts to such a strict standard where they have to be entertaining and funny 100% of the time.

Yeah, you can dig around and find free alternatives, but Audible is the only suggestion that I would want to give. The David and Bobo Show featuring Stalker Patti rules. I don't know what is better, the fact that unlike Big A, Bobo will most likely excise the genitals of prostitutes before killing them. I'd rather listen to a continual loop of BA trying to enunciate a cumbersome word beginning with the letter S for the rest of my life than hear one more David utterance. Which is not to say I especially like BA or anything...I just dislike David that much. I waffled ever so slightly after the Howard transcript recitation but since then I've been saddled with another awful D&B show, St. Patrick's (on a Tuesday which was supposed to be a D-free zone), and The Apprentice (aka the final straw in this ordeal) so I'm most assuredly back at square one with my hatred.

As a fan you should be supportive or understanding of any avenue they take but you'd have to be a mindless, obsequious drone to lick a pile of shit they continually put on your cone and call it ice cream. I don't support the listenership being held hostage by David's inescapability, nor do I understand how weathered radio titans like these would devote this much of their valuable broadcast time to something that's masochistic at best and hacky at worst. David & Bobo are so incedibly fucking bad, that they're the best thing on the radio. I have to admit that they as much as I hate them both, the David/Bobo/Twitchels/Big A show made me laugh more than anything I've heard in a long time.


The only thing better would be to see a multi-camera video shoot of the show, showing O&A and the rest of the crowd laughing and showing Bobo being fed the notes. Hearing Ant's laugh in the background during the show just fucking slay's me.
