Is there another channel that's gotten so screwed by this merger? They get rid of Ward, Coolguy (meh) and Katie Brutal and replace them with this faggot Jose who not only talks way too much (at least when Katie talked it was hot), but as the new PD they are now playing way more Squizz stuff. If I wanted to hear Stone Sour, I'd put on Squizz. XMLM is for real metal.

All of XM's music was gutted and we're left with pieces of pre-programed shit.

I miss Mercury the most. I love death metal and they have all but quit playing it.

Liquid Metal is gay I'd rather they have stuck with Hard Attack. I know what you mean, if you want to listen to Stone Sour, Disturbed, Godsmack, etc., etc. you can just turn on Octane. Hard Attack was for real heavy metal.

I HATED Katy...all she did was laugh at herself for things that weren't even supposed to be funny

I don't get it.....
I'm not a big music guy, but everyone on this board that had both XM and Sirius bfore the merger always said that Sirius had better music channels.
Do they really suck, or is this more of the "this is not what I am used to!" type of bitching??

Way too much DJ chatter. I never got the need for DJs on sat rad.

I'll tell you what, I too believed that Sirius had better music options. AKA a lot more rock. However I never had it or heard it long enough to truly understand why it stinks. Every song I hear is an A side, too many fucking djs, they interrupt a song to tell you what it is when I already have a motherfucking radio that tells me what is playing, and there is way too much repetition. Sirius blows. I think a little piece of history has died when XM went away.

My biggest gripe is recording songs off of my Inno and having fuckin Carol Miller or some douche on Lithium talking at the beginning and/or end of it. Who the fuck cares about an e-mail you got from Susanna in Maryland saying she just signed up for the service and loves it.

I like the Sirius playlists better. The jocks talk too much though.
But Sirius's idea is that people identify with the jocks and their personalities. If you wanted just music you'd use an iPod, so they offer something different.

pretty much. There is definitely more DJ chatter on some channels, but take Octane for instance. It was better than Squizz, and since it took over Squizz, it's been a good change. Same amount of music, etc.
Most people just don't like change, and for a channel like XMLM, the change definitely meant it went soft.

That definitely wasn't what LM is meant to be though. LM went for that hard core death metal audience. Now it isn't much different than Octane.

One other bit about the DJ chatter is that it is inane talking. It's one thing to hype up the band of the next song they are playing, you know "They just sold their 10 millionth copy of 'Blow Me'", or "This band will start touring clubs with flammable walls starting in the spring", but most of what they say is drivel. Today on Hair Nation, the DJ was telling us whose birthday it is. Uhhh leave that shit to Al Roker dumbass. And then he goes into a conversation with himself over whether Gene Rayburn is dead. Ugh.
I realize Boneyard is coming back, but I shudder to think how they have neutered it. Hair Nation is pretty good, but they aren't Boneyard, and many of the Boneyard staples (Iron Maiden, Dio, '80s Metallica) are nowhere to be found on H_N. Any suggestion for a better station that plays 70's/80's metal on XM?

From those three bands you mentioned it sounds like the Boneyard was similiar to Sirius' Buzzsaw. So hopefully when the AC/DC channel is over (which took the place of Buzzsaw) you will be able to hear some hard and heavy classic rock again on the Boneyard.
I just waited on hold for 18 minutes, enduring horrible Christmas music to complain to Josh at Sirius. They seem to think that we can complain to XM and get our concerns heard. What a cocky son of a bitch. I told him that the replacements for Fred, Ethyl and Lucy sucked...and when he told me that it was an XM concern I told him it was indeed his concern. Sirius took XM over and put their pre-programmed channels over quality broadcasts and yes I will complain to you, not XM where it will be ignored.
Josh wants to be a prick now, I told him my final answer will be cancel, and I will get my programming elsewhere. I never mentioned the boys since I am more pissed about Fred Ethyl and Lucy being replaced with Safety Dance, Pearl Jam and Nirvana.
You know what is funny, they say it was supposed to save me money...I one upped and paid for "The Best" of Sirius, oh boy. In 3 months I turned Howie HooHoo on twice and it was his BaBaFUCKIN BOOEY Best of show FUCK SIRIUS! I will listen to O&A in their next phase. My reciever will go dead on 01012009.

LM was one of my favorite channels on XM .. at any point in time I could hit the #9 preset on my junky Audiovox radio and hear death metal. Now, it's just garbage metal. Except for when they play old school Anthrax or Slayer, which I can hang with.
But Metallica? Megadeth? Good bands in their own right but NOT what I want from LM. What happened to the good stuff like Mayhem, Opeth, Job for a Cowboy and bands like that? There are a ton of channels to play the boring metal .. bring back the old LM!!

Liquid Metal will be all-Metallica from 3/14-4/14. Why can't they just add a channel somewhere like usual?

What a bunch of shitdicks over at sirius. I like metallica and all, but don't kill LM's "variety" (i use the term very loosely) for 30 days of one band. That's bullshit. Sirius programmers are a bunch of scabbed over puss filled cunts!
