Howard Stern is being heard once again on regular radio airwaves - only this time he's promoting Sirius XM Radio Inc. in a 90-second ad spot.
"Hey. This is Howard Stern. I know you thought you'd never hear me again on regular radio, but I haven't forgotten about you, and I hope you will join me over here at Sirius XM..." says Stern in the radio commercial.
According to Taylor on Radio-Info, at least some CBS-owned stations have accepted the ad and are running them. Ironic? Using terrestrial radio to promote satellite radio, despite any bad blood or lawsuits.
"I'm finally uncensored, nobody bleeps me here," adds Stern. "The show has never been better."

CBS shouldn't be turning its nose up at any advertising dollars. And fuck Howie for not trying harder. The "savior" of satellite should be out hawking Sirius XM on every show that he claims is begging for an appearance. Sirius paid him for his brand, not his shitty show. Get out and earn your keep, you lazy Jew.

How about you do promotion for your own shows

Why because they are adversiting for Howard? Who cares...any Serius/XM subscriptions benefit O&A regardless of if they listen to them or not

Not that I would expect him or SiriusXM to, but not a single fucking mention of O&A in the Howie read either. He even throws in a plug for Bubba being on his channel.
O&A are getting fucked every which way they turn. CBS is in the shitter, and they seemingly aren't getting support or compensation from SiriusXM. Not looking good...

They're fuckin' broke, and promo for their own shows is ad time used with no immediate payback. They can't wait for the future payoff that self-promotion will bring in if there is money to be made now.

seems dumb of cbs. But I guess its just desperation for cash on their part.
And this is more likely positive than negative for o&a. Fuck them on FM, only satellite would be better

Yes, and if only satellite would just cut them a check for their services and on-air talent, I would agree. But they need CBS until Sirius starts showing them some cash...

Are you saying O&A are working Sirius for Free?
Or are you saying they are underpaid?

Based on Opie's comments this morning on the SiriusXM side of the show, they aren't being paid (or haven't been paid recently). I think they also went a period of time without pay at SiriusXM just before their contract expired as well.
So yes, right now, I think they are doing a show for free.

I hope this isn't too off topic, but don't the bboys now & again mention how they were courted by Q104 -- a station, I think,
that has nothing whatsoever to do with that hooknosed sheeney bastard ?
Is that a viability for 'em ?

Might be off topic but I'd be curious about that as well. I think Q104 is owned by Clear Channel and not CBS, so it would also open the door for Clear Channel to syndicate them.
I just don't know if Q104 is interested in O&A anymore. Depending on how things work out at CBS, it might be something they have to explore.

I've been hearing tons of Sirius XM commercials on 105.7 out of Baltimore and on 1210AM from Philly. Both CBS stations.
And the ads mention O&A as one of the shows offered.

Yeah, I think it was just the read from Stern that completely omits O&A. I know the other recent ads do include them, but Stern's read conveniently forgets them.

Who else would SIXM get to advertise satellite radio on CBS-terrestrial?? Oprah? ....You guy's are waaaaayy too consumed with Stern.. Let it go, his show has always been better. It has been proven over and over and over... :icon_wink

Yeah yeah, I went to see lil Jimmy's show for some info about coming back when the boys were fired from WNEW, I chanted it too when I cancelled my XM when they were suspended from ol XM.
But winning in the end? Tell me is that right after Hoo Hoo's advertisment pushing Jackie the hack Martling and Bubba plays on what is now O&A's home market?
I know they work for the same company but damn I never thought Id see the day.

And I also agree with Redding. I know money is money, but this is the opposite of progress.
But I do wonder how I wold feel if it was an Sirius XM advert with O&A, on FM radio? I think I would be inconsistent and would support the commercial. Funny that.

How old were you when Howard was in his prime? Listening to his old shows now doesn't work because everything he did has been done a million times since.
Humor is all relative, but most people agree that in his prime Howard was the best in the game. Now he's washed up and doesn't care about doing good radio.

Yeah, when Jackie left the show really went down hill. He still had his moments, but there are shows like O&A building on what he did and making it more relevant. He's vital to the history of this format, but not important to it anymore.
Hell, the format is pretty dead anyway. No one listens to radio for "shocking" humor anymore. They can go to the internet and find anything they want now. Why wait for a show to bring it to you? Radio is a dead medium. It's not O&A's fault, and it's not because Howard left. It's technology that's killing both terrestrial and satellite radio.

The FCC never should have allowed Sirius & XM to merge, they should have operated until they had to declare bankruptcy, then restructure and get out of the bad contracts with "talent" like Oprah & Martha Stewart, and renegotiated the sports contracts.

I heard the ad on 97.1 here is in SOCAL. It was not only angering but frustrating to here the cunt on the commerical name EVERY SINGLE program on XM and SIRUIS but the boys. I am also a fan of Howie and still think his show is entertaining and also think the OandA get the bad end of the stick from this company. OandA bring a relaxed fresheness to the game (which can use some structure sometimes...just sayin) but I feel bad for them (even though they make millions) for the dis the company has given them. Look, Howie was a huge REVENUE stream for FM, Mel acknowldeged it to OA, he has been pushed further and has been in this business far more years then our boys. That is the truth. I have been here in Cali (from Port Jeff, LOng Island) for 5 years...NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT O&A show expect..."those douches with the church scandal comments" Its not the boys...the show with Jimmy's off the cuff remarks are GOLD but its just the whole way the shows has been promoted or I dont even know why...anymore...
I dont know what would i do if I were in there position, on one end they are trying to push thier show to more people and on the other hand they have to worry about fucking censorship that HOwie does not get!!
