Great show. I didn't get into it until the second season started only because I didn't know anything about it. Flipping through channels, caught a scene with Bruce Campbell, not realizing what show it was. Stuck around for the rest of the episode and have been hooked ever since.

Caught up on all the episodes thanks to Hulu.

The producers of the shows on the big networks could learn something from this one. You don't need a huge budget to make a good show.

Great show, great concept. It is one of three shows I set the DVR for (Unit and 24 others) so as to never miss an episode. when In Plain Sight comes back the total will be up to 4.

USA Network is putting a lot behind this show if you look at the website and the promotion. Not that they are promoting it on NBC or any of their other properties, just USA and other cable networks. With the amount of garbage on tv and the real dirth of original content and ideas, why won't NBC promote Burn Notice?
Hot girl, good action, Bruce Campbell. Jeffrey can act, the story lines are good. Everything wrapped up in 43 minutes with one plot string to continue.

Well Donovan is making a name for himself even when not doing the show. He was in the changeling as the police captain which was nominated for 3 oscars. Even stupid Bob Kelly mentioned the show the other day claiming the shows making him craftier. Its a good show but its not a miracle worker stupid.

Thoughts on the first episode, loved the interrogation scenes. Bruce fucking rules on this show, the thing with the thumb and whistling while he put towels on his shoulders for no reason was great. Just fucking with the guys heads. Really starting to enjoy the music for this show as well, they use some amazing songs in certain episodes. The episode where Micheal fights Ex Spy Larry and has to save the ladies from the dump truck could be one of the best action sequence songs I've ever heard. Its not over done, you just hear and know theres a bad ass at work.

Micheal had my favorite line of the show though,

Micheal "by the way how'd the assassination go?"

Carla "the operation was compromised"

Micheal "which is why your hold-ed up in an office with two guys and a bag of Cheeto's"

It was weird seeing Micheal kind of losing it. Especially when he went off about his brother being released from jail. But Donovan really pulled it off. I have always liked him as an actor (see the short lived series Touching Evil).

I never knew there could be such a thing as a hot fight scene but I was sporting wood when Fi was fighting Renee.

I don't know why but for some reason Tricia Helfer looked hotter than she did last season.

Anyway great start to the new season.

I'll be honest the first time I watched the episode I wasn't sure if I liked it that much but after watching it a couple more times (torrents rule) and picking up on little things like the music on interogation scenes, Bruce being a dickbag and Micheals funny lines. The show is what all shows should be. Great writing, good acting, action, hot Fiona. The characters on the periphery are just that, on the periphery. I don't care about his brother that much, and they keep his part to a minimum. The writers aren't forcing new characters on the viewers, trying to get us to commit.

It is the first time I've liked a show with a running commentary. Michael allows us to know what is in his head, what he is doing, and why. His speaking voice is pleasant, no Long Island accent. He can play other parts and not just the smooth spy. The Homer and the biological lab tech were quite good.

And what can you say about Bruce other than the fact he rules. Getting tortured, getting ready to torture someone, he is good.

The writers for this show should get more recognition. But, NBC blows dog and won't promote them. That piece of crap Chuck gets prime exposure and placement, Burn Notice gets nothing. I've never seen Chuck but I hate it.

Well I interpreted the commercial for this weeks episode all wrong but at least I wasn't wrong about it being really really good. By far my favorite episode of this season.

"fighting like a spy means disguising attacks as attempts to help, it means making acts of men seem like acts of god"

Such a cool line, also Sam just flat out ruled in this episode. I really wish the boys had talked to him about burn notice when he was on when...when Roland had his last day :(

Bought the season on iTunes and go back and watch the episodes. This and a few other tv shows/movies are starting to run together.

Was it Michael who paid the kids to tell the cops that the men in the car (his first FBI watchers) that the men asked the kids to sit in their laps?

The loft has becoming much better looking since the first couple episodes. Was there on offhand remark "Like what you did" or "Threw some paint on the walls" to explain how much better it is after the blast blew the heavy metal door off the hinges.

What happened to his car? It kind of disappeared.

I really like the monologue Michael has with us. He has a good speaking voice and style. Slow enough to make you strain for his next word, but not so slow you think he is in Alabama.

The writers should be getting more credit for this show.

I was in LA last summer when they were pumping for the 2nd season. Every billboard was covered, every corner had someone handing out Burn Notice frisbees and visors, drink coolers, anything. I hadn't watched it yet and refused to accept it, thinking a network show would be crap. I am an idiot.
The same network who brought us Pacific Blue. I should have trusted them.

Yes, Michael landed on his car, Sam made the comment about the car saving his life. Is he going to get it repaired? Love that car.

Thanks for reminded me about the loft comment.

For your question, Michael over Jack Bauer. If I need information extracted or someone silenced, Jack is the man. Michael to save my life or get me out. It is almost heresy to think of someone other than Jack Bauer.

The show has stayed out of politics and economics. I am happy for that. No matter the show, the writers have to work something from current day into the script. Not so on Burn Notice.

How cool is Bruce Campbell for taking this show, knowing he is the 3rd one in on the show. He has the biggest name recognition and resume, but he isn't demanding more of the show. He knows his role (and shuts his mouth).
Love Bruce. Bought Army of Darkness from iTunes just to watch it again.

Well Micheal is a spy, his whole thing is "I was never here and you don't know who I am and theres no evidence here that could possibly convict me". He doesn't usually kill because bodies leave a trail back to him. He almost never uses his real name because people could trace it back to him. When he needs someone killed he tricks others into thinking they need to kill based on circumstances he creates. Your much more likely to live with him than a guy who would shoot you just as soon as he would look at you.

He may not show much emotion as Micheal but hes supposed to have been a spy for 15 years plus army experience. Your not going to freak him out or get him to lose his cool, his job depends on him staying in character while the other guy loses his shit and he bends them to his will.

What I loved about last night's episdoe, was it showed why Victor was able to get under Micheal's skin. Because of their similar skills and their way of thinking, they are bascially the same person. Although Victor was no doubt a little insane. It made wish they had more time working together.

My only complaint about the episode was that there was a little too much music playing. I didn't mind it during the car scene or during the ending. However I could have done without the rest of it.

Viktor is the perfect foil to Michael. Both concerned about family, both having reasons to want to kill Carla. Both excellent at their jobs. The only difference is Viktor is a psychopath. Excellent point about how he kept laughing and pausing while telling how he was recruited.

Carla getting touched by Fiona was a good way to wrap that section of the story without making it too drawn out. Fiona gets to kill someone, Michael can move on, and Sam gets some beer.

For the third season, I would like them to develop more of the Sam and Fiona character. How did Sam and Michael meet, let Sam get more into the plot. Same with Fiona. They started to do that in a couple of episodes, would like more of it. Let them fail on a mission. See how Michael responds to not saving the day. Not every mission can end with success.
