WTF.....

I grew up in this so called classic environment...I watch METAL MANIA....and it is video after fucking video of fucking bands that embarrassed me .

Who the fuck is in charge of the 80's-90's?

All I could guess is the fagot sellouts are still selling...

For Christ sake kids this is a lie.

Thre was so much great music & every video you see on VH1 classic is bullshit.

There was real metal... we lived and bled by... trust me.. I saw the blood.

Slayer mad it normal. Suck your moms cunt Brett make up wearing fagot.

If you think it sucks now just wait until the spooks take it over. You'll be seeing "classic" videos from 5 years ago while they reminisce about the good old days. :icon_roll

And that's owned by MTV so it had no choice but to suck.

Metal gets a pretty sorry representation on vh1. Apparently metal, to them, is hair bands of the 80s and maybe 1 real metal song. It's sickening. Headbanger's Ball is a little better than vh1's Metal Mania. "That Metal Show" sucks, too. It's like a watered down Talking Metal, which is already 5 parts water and 2 parts suck.

Yes it was (past tense) great... As was MTV2 at the time as well. Like MTV 300 years ago, they used to play actual videos. They also would go with themes like like play all videos with colors in the title or some silly shit like that. But they didn't make a deal of it or advertise it as such. Only after 2 or 3 videos would you be able to surmise what the particular theme was.

There used to be an MTV X channel, or something along the lines of that, when we first got Comcast in my house. It played alternative rock and grunge and stuff, it was pretty cool., all videos. Then they turned it into "MTV Jams". Guess which videos it plays....

It's run by the same people who ret-conned Peter Frampton into some kind of hard rock icon. He wasn't. He was a pretty boy wuss who Bon Scott could have flossed with. "Do you feel / Like I" NO. NO I DON'T.

I remember the headbangers ball when it started. Priest, Maiden. Trashed by Sabbath was always a favorite.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks "That Metal Show" just absolutely blows. I wanted to like it, if only for Florentine, but I couldn't sit through it. I've seen public access shows run by high schoolers with more insight and value.

The one episode I did catch was with Yngwe fuckin Malmsteen. Great.

TRashed I'll give you 100%..

But accept? you actual bought and listened to that retarded midget ?:action-sm

thats the exact crap I hate on these shows.

It's like they play all kinds of shit from the 80's no one actually liked. I cant recall 1 Accept t shirt in highschool. If anything when they played that video we would all just laugh at that corny ass band.

Did you see the one with metal super-fan Mike Piazza? Really insightful...
Atleast on the Talking Metal show they would play some music instead of having a meaningless 2 minute debate or a Lita Ford interview.

Glenn Dandy

Having Rush was about it for good guests.

I always liked Ed Trunk in his interviewing.... but hes a stammering prick without set dialog. A metal Show with a host that won't get a tattoo because his wife will kill him... thats sooo metal.

the show def needs work.

The man on the street stuff is good... I remember Florentine doing stuff like that for head bangers ball or some metal show many years ago... he was doing a bit aout how just having long hair will get you laid.

I think I have it on betamax somewhere..lol

I love the channel and have really been watching it alot over the past two months. I 've actually got my 10 year old daughter listening and loving AC/DC, Judas Priest, Van Halen,Motley Crue, The cult, motorhead and a list of others. Some of the bands may suck bad, I'm just glad to see the stuff back on T.V.
Who sings better than Dio, But the name of the song is "rainbow in the dark" which is a kick ass song. But if someone wanted to rip it apart it would be pretty easy.
I just love to hear it again. That accept song was the jam when you were 18.

Metal Mania does suck because of the amount of hair metal bands they play. I don't think MTV 2's Headbangers Ball is any better because every time I see it, they play way too much shitty nu-metal. It also looks like that show may be on its last legs. It went from being on 11pm and on for two hours, to coming on at 1am and only on for an hour. I think what would be cool, is that if VH1 Classic aired the original Headbangers Ball.

As Metal Mania's love for the 80s' and not playing 90s' videos. Maybe its because unlike radio, VH1 doesn't refer to the 90s' as a classic era.

As for that Metal Show, it definitely does need work. I only watch if its on and I happen to catch it when I'm flipping channels.

This is what I love about hard rock and metal music. I think no other genre of music inspires debate as soon as you utter their names.

I just cant believe theres 2 Accept fans... willing to admit it.

as far as Dio.... There are tons of great Dio videos.. from Sacred heart, live in philly, holy diver, sabbath,rainbow....

but, you just get " rainbow in the dark" its like a lazy person controls the show.

Dokken... one of my favorite bands... plenty of good clips out there but you get the " freddy cruger movie song" WTF?

thats what bugs me as much as the gay metal bands... the good ones they play their gayest song.

I also agree with Glenn about Dokken. Why do they have to play Dream Warriors so fucking much? It's their worse song imo.

That explains why you like " balls to the wall" i guess.:icon_cool

I think you needed to see Dokken live to appreciate them for the great band they are. Mosters of Rock..on before Metallica...one of the greatest shows, ive ever seen.

Day of the show... I think I was about 8 feet from this guy in the second row.
this is when Metallica ruled the world.

Never saw them. I know George Lynch is a hell of guitar player. However, I could never get past songs like "Dream Warriors" and "Breaking the Chains".

I saw Dokken open for Judas Priest on their "Turbo" tour in '86. It's still is one of the best concerts I've ever seen. And yes, I think Turbo the album sucked but both bands put on one hell of a show.

VH1 Classic Blows
MTV Blows
MTV2 Blows
Headbanger's Ball Blows
Fuse Blows
Hair Metal Blows
Accept Blows
Dokken Blows

Even fucking Music Choice blows for not making that channel all that it is capable of.

I am 35 and when I was in High School NO ONE wore hair metal band shirts. Well maybe not no one, but the few Poison or Warrant shirts that were worn were worn by girls. EVERYONE had a Metallica shirt. Slayer, Megadeth, ST, Anthrax, Pantera.... Yet classic metal is hair shit, fuck you that's hard rock and that term is generous for most of that shit.

I remember one outfit I wore back in 1990: Overkill "Years of Decay" shirt, neon green shorts, neon green baseball cap with an Overkill patch on the front and "Spite" (my band) written under the brim (which would be flipped up like Mike Muir wore, and a neon green bandana underneath the cap. Ahh.... memories...

I forgot about Balls to Wall. Thanks for making me loff. Anybody remember a video for song that went something like "that's life in hollywood"? It was the late 80's and a blatant G&R ripoff.
