A lot of changes over the years, especially post merger, and I'm sure there are probably a lot of different opinions. I was wondering what the feeling are about the changes.

I for one feel everything went downhill since the merger started. XM used to try to be leader in technology. Has there been anything new since the INNO? How long was that..

The music is now generic terrestrial radio stuff, with bad DJ's. Instead of channels that focus on niche music the new platform groups similar niche's. For me it doesn't work. I like punk, and loved fungus. I guess I'm supposed to listen to Faction now, but its not the same. I hate lincoln park, and I am not a big fan of hardcore.

Finally, O and A do not seem very secure in this new business model. I have my big executive hat on here, and if I wanted to get rid of O and A and not lose major subs, I would fire the show and give Anthony his own political show. My thinking is I can get Anthony for a fraction of the cost and keep the audience. Would that be enough for you to not cancel.

No O&A, equals no sub for me. If Melvin wants to shoot himself in the face, then so be it.

Post merger XM blows. The music is too repetitive, and yip yappy DJ's should be kicked in the liver until DEAD!

O & A is a no go, Bye bye X2 if that happens.

The niche market is all gone. FUCK Alt Nation, Lithium, and 1st Wave. It's just like regular radio today. The same songs over and over and over.

Fred, Lucy, and Ethyl were far better, and more gooder radio.

Hey jew boy, yea you MEL go fuck yourself.

the pay to play artist channels sicken me. The fact that Ac/DC can buy a channel for 6 months because they are releasing an album is disgusting.

Really? even if you are a hardcore AC/DC fan, do you need or enjoy your own channel for 6 months.. Maybe a week or two is nice, but 6 f'n months??

I can understand the dead having a channel, but that is because it is a cultural thing and when you take into account the years of live music recorded, plus all of the members side projects. There is enough material. But, are you telling me AC/DC has enough material to warrant 6 months of a 24 hour a day channel.

This whole merger has pissed me off. The lack of technology doesn't bother me since I am not in the market for new hardware, but it sure is indicative of the state of the companies.

As far as the playlists go, I've known for some time that Sirius relied on repetitive songs and limited playlists compared to XM. It saddens me that Mel didn't take this opportunity to appeal to a wider market when he merged. I never really noticed the DJ thing the few times I listened to Sirius, but I think that has ruined it for XM listeners more than any other change.

These single band channels are stupid. Anyone who is that hardcore a fan will not be playing $12.95 to listen to their favorite band on Sirius, they would just pop in the different CD's they own of said favorite artist. It's a waste of bandwidth to have an Elvis channels, a Jimmy Buffett channel, a Bruce Springsteen channel, etc. I wouldn't mind a channel that rotated through different artists (maybe one a month), assuming they took the opportunity to go deep in their catalog, promoted the channel and artist well and didn't occupy an already used channel.

Here's my how I feel. I really never payed for music. I bought my subs because of OandA four years ago and kept them because of Ron and Fez. In my eyes OandA lost me when they signed back up on terrestrial. Some might not agree but the show changed when they did that and it has never been something I used to enjoy since. Ron and Fez still make me laugh on a regular basis and now since the merger I found The Jason Ellis Show on Faction. I really only listened to squizz when I listened to music before and Octane is pretty close to what squizz was. In my eyes OandA shot themselves in the foot when they wanted to be on both FM and XM. I don't think anyone would want an employee working for them that didn't believe in their company. Why would Mel pay for a show that never expected satellite to be the next big thing? I know the superfans are gonna trash me but it is what it is.
