Just watched it and pretty much as close to the comics as you can get without sending fan boys like me into a rage.

You get both movies on the DVD but the real meat on the bones is the wolverine hour of the two hours. You get Deadpool (who doesn't fucking love him?), lady death strike, sabertooth and Omega Red plus wolverine fighting the hulk and weapon X. This stupid cartoon was better then all 3 xmen movies as far as I'm concerned and far more entertaining. 1 hour nothing but action and deadpool just being a complete bag of dicks. At one point he wants to kill a room full of babies just for fun. Best of all, you could pretty much read this story in a comic, its really that close. Bloody as fuck to.

Then theres the Thor movie which is also directly all comic fan fare. You got Odin and the Odin's sleep and Loki being a cunt and Hulk just ****** everyone in sight. Its a nice addition but after the wolverine half of the movie it seems boring. The Thor one plays first though so its a nice Hulk lead into Wolverine.

I've been a big fan of their entire animated series.

Given the many disappointments of their live action films, it makes you think that maybe Marvel films should just concentrate on the animated ones instead.

I prefer the animated, you can get the characters down better. No shitty actors to deal with, "I think the character would act this way", do you stupid? Cause your a pretty face with a 3rd grade reading level, so I'm just going to make the movie my way.

All I want is cool powers and action, hell wolverine could be makin a sammich as long as its with his claws I'm happy. Also this had deadpool and it would be really hard to find a guy to pull him off voice, body wise and humor wise. Combine a comedian/a ninja/a special forces soldier and a member of a mental institution and you got deadpool. His powers actually make him insane, its a side effect of being experimented on.

Hulk vs. Wolverine was my favorite amimated marvel effort to date, and the Thor half was damn good also. There's talk of continuing the versus concept, which hopefully they do. I wonder what the reception would be if Marvel did release something like this into the theaters first. I'm there if they ever do.

There was a line after deadpool does something in this movie that sent me into laughter for a solid minute. If it was anyone else (I just googled to make sure I knew who you were talking about) I would say it would fail, but Ryan in every movie I've seen him in is a complete asshole/smartass. He unlike Toby McGuire can do the comedy part of the role with no problem since hes a comedic actor which is what you want as a base. Throw on some guns, ninja moves, awful looking skin and a bad ass sword and boom hes deadpool.

The Thor half is more for comic fans who know the characters I think, I doubt people who don't know the comics who appricate it as much. I love the new thor series marvels doing so I was familar with all the stuff and loved it too. When watching the movies I got the distinct feeling "this is made for the fans" and not some shitty general audience. Which is exactly what all the movies should be, we can use wikipedia and get a heros entire career in 30 minutes.

I was reading some rumors where they said Reynolds might not have the Deadpool mask on for a good chunk of the film, but we might see his disfigurement and subsequent donning of the mask.

I felt both were for comic fans. Does anyone outside of comic fans know who Omega Red or even Deadpool is? And yes the new Thor series is the best thing Marvel is publishing right now.

Omega Red is kinda known from the old xmen series but Deadpool is surprisingly unknown. Hes one of the most charming and lovable characters you can possibly have minus the killing people for a living and having no conscience or morals to speak of.

Just watched both a little while ago and both were great.

Continuing the "Versus" idea huh? Then here are my suggestions then:

Punisher vs. Daredevil
Iron Man vs. Hulk(The "Hulkbuster" armor would be sweet)

Any excuse to make more movies for the fans is a plus in my book. Fuck they could make a deathlock the demolisher movie and I would watch. After the comics cover the Hood more I want to see someone fight him, a demon whos the kingpin of criminals fucking rules.

On the extras of the dvd either Craig Kyle or Chris Yost, I get them confused, kind of hinted he'd like to see X-Men vs. The Avengers, which would be sweet.

Thats the great thing about animation, you can do fights like that without years of dealing with actors and special effects. The small scale of the movies allows marvel to specialize in who they want to reach so theres no need to add fluff to the movies.

Actually in the featurette about "Woverine & The X-Men" there is a quick scene where they have the X-men and the Avengers(Definetaly saw Cap) together. So it may yet happen.

Yep Found it! some great stuff here:

The story follows the narrative of Bruce Banner and the Hulk following a war which ended in a violent nuclear holocaust that only he could have survived.

Banner begins the story, talking to a camera left by a robot Recorder belonging to one of The Watchers to record "The Last Days of Earth" as an archival lesson for other planets.

While Banner is forced to drown in sorrow as the last human alive on Earth, wandering for years across the ruins of the old cities and remembering what he can of the world before, the Hulk (in his Rampaging Hulk form) is angry at Banner, in that with Banner he is still not alone in the World. During one of Banner's walks, he is beset upon some monstrously overgrown cockroaches, mutated by the nuclear fallout, and it is the Hulk who gets up to try and stop them.

When Banner awakens later, he watches a video recording made by the alien camera of the cockroaches eating the Hulk alive before he heals.

The story is mainly fueled by the fact that Banner and the Hulk's desires, even at the end of the world, are still conflicted; whereas Hulk still stubbornly wishes to prove himself the strongest being on Earth, Banner merely wishes to die, attempting suicides that fail when he becomes the Hulk again.

Eventually, Banner falls asleep in an old cave, only to dream of a woman with the appearance of Betty Ross. In the dream, he becomes young again and they begin to make love amongst a paradise. However, when she begins to talk, saying that the two will eventually be 'like gods', Banner awakens violently.

Suffering a painful heart attack, Banner realizes how much his punishment resembles that of Prometheus, the Last Titan; condemned to stay forever alive even while animals devour him. As he dies, the Hulk's persona arises in his mind. Banner pleads with the Hulk, begging him to simply let go of his conflicts - claiming that they are going to a paradise where all their dead friends are, where they will be happy. Hulk throws away this suggestion because, in his eyes, friends have always betrayed him. Amidst a thunderous storm, Hulk proclaims that all he wants is to be left alone.

The next morning, the Hulk somberly sits outside the cave, musing in his inner monologue: "Banner is gone...got rid of him last night." As he remembers the confrontation, he realizes that if he were ever to change back to Banner, he would die also. The Hulk is glad, because he does not need Banner, only for the truly tragic realization to come upon him: "Hulk...strongest one there is. Hulk...only one there is...Hulk feels...cold."

Now theres a movie, Wolverine and Cap fighting the nazis in world war 2. Might be fun and then the second half of the film is them in modern times fighting Hydra or something.

Never know if you don't try but its safer to just make some straight to DVD stuff. Maybe there testing the waters, the animation was very good even for straight to DVD, doesn't look like they skimped on quality.
