Hilary Duff set for 'Bonnie and Clyde'
Tonya S. Holly will direct new adaptation
By DAVE MCNARY

Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers will star in indie feature "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde," produced by Cypress Moon Studios.

Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property.

Holly wrote, produced and directed the feature "When I Find the Ocean."

"The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" is set to lense in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard will also star.

Duff was most recently seen in "War, Inc." Zegers most recently starred in "Fifty Dead Men Walking."

Whoever came up with this idea should have AIDS-filled needles plunged into their eyeballs.

Hollywood should be set on fire. No one has a original bone in their body there.

I hope Earl Scruggs gets more residuals.

Have they remade Leave it to Beaver or Easy Rider yet? I think everything else has been done already.

I was just wondering how to accurately express how I feel about this, but you did it for me. Thanks. Really, Hollywood?

To step aside from the well deserved remake hate.

1. It's not a remake.
2. It's not like she is copying someone's work. These are historical figures. Are we going to cry foul if someone does a new movie about Billy the Kid? Hell, two Wyatt Erp movies came out in the same year.

Yeah, but a movie about Bonnie and Clyde starring Hillary Duff? This just reeks of garbage.

I fully expect a scene where they go into a saloon and she sings her newest single.

I wonder if they'll take the dialogue from the Simpsons Bonnie + Clyde parody where after they rob a bank Homer says "It's a sex thing!" and the bank manager replies "I understand completely."

Well, depending on what kind of outfits they deck her out in, it could reek of my semen.

It's not a remake, but it's a retelling of a story that's been told very well. I suppose there's a case to be made that every generation should get a chance to tell this story, but you can do it more creatively - like Natural Born Killers.

I'll take your Billy the Kid angle. Did Young Guns need to be made? No, but the previous generation's effort was decidedly less favorably received than Bonnie and Clyde and didn't even touch on the majority of the material that ended up in Young Guns. Since Young Guns 1 and 2 covered Billy the Kid's whole life, I don't think a remake needs to be made anytime soon unless they're going to try to be more historically accurate.

I cried foul when Wyatt Earp came out - It was atrocious, although Joanna Going is probably in my personal top 5 hottest actresses ever.

And one more thing - with Hillary Duff in it - It MUST have a PG-13 rating, which of course means they won't really be telling the story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Are you saying Young Guns was better than Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid?

No. I'm saying it covered different material. At least the first one did, so it at least attempted to do something other than retell the previous version.

I'm saying Bonnie and Clyde is better than Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, and doesn't need to be retold, especially in a PC, PG-13 schlock fest.

Unless Hillary Duff ends up nuuuude and gang-banged, there is not a chance in hell of me seeing this piece of shit.
