Figure this is worth a shot... some pretty fancy people on this board so why not.

If I reproduce some symbols used say on a lawnmower or snowblower on our company's own models of the same. Who would I have to pay royalties to, or would I have to pay at all?

I just do need any legal BS when we go to production of our models. Aren't these things common use?

I'm looking for a handful of different illustrations. Don't lift here. You'll poke your eye out, that kind of stuff.

Any resources? How much $ am I looking at?

Think I may need to clarify... shoot with any questions.

Thanks!

I'd think that some of the symbols used may be generic public domain, but I'm no expert.

I know the common ones are, but I need to reproduce some that are proprietary to the machines. Don't want some ass going Disney on us.

Thanks

I should have included a poll to bet on the ratio of serious to BS posts

If you have MS Office installed on one of your computers you have access to a ton of free clipart online:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspx?cag=1

And this is a free, open-sourced clipart design platform for the free OpenOffice suite.

If you copy too closely, they may try and say you are attempting to make your product look similar to theirs in order to confuse consumers, etc.

You oughta be able to find generic stuff. Or, with the technology available today to pretty much anyone, you can probably make your own shit in minimal time.

Thanks!Seems to me that a company producing lawnmowers would leave the warning sticker printing to a third party. You're pounding out heavy steel, leave the label printing and copyright laws to the guys who specialize in it.

Have you contacted OSHA, or some other agency like that?
