I'm 27 years old and just purchased my very first car. Not only a car, but my dream car. I've wanted one of these things since I was 16. It's yellow, manual transmission, and convertible.... all the things I wanted in a Jeep. Here she is.... 11 years in the making. This was the week I thought I deserved it. The wheels look a little goofy on it but so what.... there aint a dirt road for miles here.

Oh, and you block out the plates for the same reason you block out serial numbers on firearms. So no one can pull any shenanigans. If you had a TX vehicle, for example, I could run your plate, get your VIN, DL number & whatnot and then put a mechanic's lein on it. It would only take about 2 hours, and you wouldn't be able to transfer the vehicle to anyone in or out of state until it was released.

Yep, that's the one, unfortunately mine doesn't have the neat hood decals or those kickass lamps by the windshield. Just the Willy's logo by the doors. I think the 04's had that stuff because of the 60th anniversary of D-Day, but I could be wrong. Is that one yours?

Thats what I'm running. Only gonna go 31's though when I need new tires and a 2" BB. I'd have to do a regear to run 33s and I don't wanna go that nuts.

Also, another favorite thing about that Jeep, it was so easy to work on. It had the inline 6, you could pop the hood and you had all the room to do what ever you needed. It actually made working it fun, not frustrating and enraging.

CONGRATS BROTHER!! It's a big day man. The first car I bought was back in 1988 when I bought a 1985 Trans Am and the insurance was more then the car payment. I was broke, 19 years old and getting laid almost daily.

I bought my first brand new car in 1998. I ordered it with specific options and had to wait an agonozing 12 weeks for it to be built and shipped to Omaha. I was 29 years old and my face hurt from smiling so much the day I went to pick it up and a small crowd came up and I was congratulated by a few in the crowd when I told them it was my first new car. It rained all damn day here in Pennsylvania, just miserable. The top on my 07 leaked like a sieve. soaked the floors, took two bathroom towels to keep the dripping down but eventually just made one hell of a mess. Leaked on both side, directly above the door handles. Just a fuckinig mess.

Negative, Jeep factory soft top. Theres a seam at the point in the door and the water just chennels down the rain gutter and hooks a downward turn right at the crease in the plastic. After doing some reading it's not uncommon apparently. Don't get me wrong, a jeep is a jeep. You expect a little random drop everynow and then but this was a stream on both sides.

SO finally after a summer of searching for the 17" in Rubicon rims for a decent price I was just about to give up. Today we head over to the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle and there they were. Picked up 4 rims for $125. 3 out of the 4 are in excellent shape the 4th has a few nicks and scraps on it. Anything I can do here at home to remove the scratches or just let it be and enjoy? It's not an overthetop scratch but I'm a stickller over shit like that.
