braver men than i, that's for sure. i'd just be freaking out. and sweating bullets too because i sweat an inhuman amount. i wonder how much sweat could fill up that electrified suit before it gets to the electricity and fries me.

In some places if they don't do this kinda shit the current will arch out of the line and strike civilians, because the of the high voltage.

While the lineman is taking incredible risks, the chopper pilot has the serious skills. He keeps that helo in a precise hover next to the cable as the lineman CLAMPS into it. That gents is nerves of steel.

What's that show on Discovery where this guy goes on excursions to fix really big things - this one episode he got to do the chopper/line repair - as well as use an extension ladder already at the top of the lines...

There used to be a guy here locally that changed lightbulbs on the big antenna towers, and he was blind.

That same job is far less dramatic in America. There's none of that being flow in by helicopter shenanigans it's just climbing up a ladder and hooking in. No biggie.
Its still crazy to see them inching across the power line though. That helo pilot definitely was on the ball. That was a great hover he held.

Ever ask why he's blind?

totally could do this job. Love heights. I posted this one like 3 yrs ago. Think about it once you've gone off of the heli, it would be quiet and peaceful working up there with a great view.

I have a friend who did that. Talk about uninsurable... The chopper actually crates it's own magnetic field so it's alot safer than one would think. Science......makes my head hurt.
