I don't know, this is kind of fucked up. I used to take Ripped Fuel, and more recently Xenedrine with Ephedra (before Xenadrine stopped making Ephedra pills), and I used it the way your supposed to ie, take two before exercise and two at mid afternoon....some assholes in this world are popping them like candy probably and being completely un-responsable.
All you have to do is take the pills the correct way, the freakin' warning label is huge on bottles that contain ephedra pills, obviously these retards can't read and/or think that they won't get hurt by overdosing.

just was watching msnbc at the gym and aside from the stupid mad cow disease which is costing america big time in a lot of lost money, they were really focused on the ephedra ban.
One person said it best when he explained that these type of diet pills are just that, this isn't advil or tylenol, these pills are made by independant diet and exercise company's this law should not be passed.
Also I think the gnc stores have all banned the ephedra a long time ago, Vitamian world still sells the stuff but what's going to be bad is the small time vitamian stores that still sell it, there gonna' loose a lot of money.
Next thing you know Al-Queda will be shipping the stuff over illegally. "Large ammounts of heroin and ephedra were siezed by the coast guard, however the drug smugglers were able to pour hundreds of pounds of ephedra overboard before the boat could be siezed. It appears that thousands of fish are suffering from siezers and massave muscle growth"

I think the stuff is dangerous. I gave the Stacker2 a try about a year ago and the stuff made me crazy. I couldn't sleep at night if I took the shit during the day. Plus it made me feel like I wanted to kill someone. I gave up after a few days. I took it a few times after that when I needed to stay awake for something. I still got most of the bottle left.

Ephedra makes me want to strangle people too. Even with the pseudoephdrine in cold medicine, I still freak out.
Also, I'm involved in pretty elite sports competition, and we get drug tested pretty regularly, and ephdrine is banned, so I've had to stay clear of it for a while.

What a load of bullshit. Smoking kills 600,000 Americans every year and no politician has proposed banning tobbaco. Gee, do you think the fact that the powerful tobbaco lobby donates billions to candidates from both parties has anything to do with that?
Yeah right, they care about American's health. As long as it doesn't cost them money.

Ephedra isn't the only active ingredient in Stacker2. All of those pills are different mixtures of the same basic "ephedra/caffiene/aspirin" stack with some additions. I've been using ephedra products for around 6 or 7 years (on and off, etc.) and have had zero problems with it.
I didn't like the Stacker because it made my jittery, however Xenadrine and Hydroxycut were both great products (pre-ephedra removal). I'm not too familiar with the newer products that don't have ephedra though.
My own opinion is that it isn't a health risk that is pushing this change, it is dollars and cents. Some lobby firm that has clients who make supplements that are used as replacement for ephedra (hey, have you seen all of the products that are now 'ephedra free' but still have almost the same stuff in it) is pushing hard to generate a market for their new product.

See this guy takes it like a normal human being, read the label and take what's recommended. Alchohol and Tobacco are a hell of a lot worse for you than Ephedra and are those banned? NO.
(stacker 2 has some sort of weird freaky combo in it b/c anybody who i've talked to who has taken it has told me that the side effect is that it makes them pissed off)

I dont know why this is so shocking to anyone. There are even places in america where you can't buy more than one package of sudafed at a time, or its reported to the cops. In fact, if I remember correctly, there are places you cant even get sudafed without going to the pharmacist. If not sure if drugs with ephedra are used the same way, but with sudafed the reasoning is that its used to make crystal meth, and thats why they notify the cops if you buy it too frequently, or buy too much at once.
I also think I didnt used to be able to buy more than two bottles of robitussin DM at one time from the same place... but thats for a different reason.

A member of my family was taking this as they should and it screwed them up. It through their body chemistry off and the started having anxiety attacks and couldn't control their emotions. Went to a doctor and after ruling out other things asked if they were taking diet pills that contained Ephedra which they were. Got off of that and immediately there was improvement. Only took 6 months of Prozak to get them back to their old self.
Yes, this should be banned. Because they squeeked it through as "herbal" it didn't have to go through proper FDA testing. I believe that the idea here is to start treating these things like other drugs because they can have the same effects and make them go through the FDA approval process. The manufacturer will got to court and get a ruling that if they can pass FDA testing they can sell it again.

lemme tell ya, from personal experience. I'm a fat dude who used to wash down 3 stacker2's a day with dr. pepper, and it made my f'ing heart pound worse than when I'm pounding the old lady (insert pun here). but I still say, if you can't understand how to take shit, that's your fault. I don't like the gov telling me what to do.
plus, if you're banning ephedra, how can you still sell pseudophed? a form of ephidrine, and the primary component in speed!

if you've ever been in a truck stop, you've seen the pills behind the counter to keep you awake. Those are all pumped up doses of pseudoephidrine. A perfectly legal drug.

The reason Alcohol and TABACCO is still sold is that they have been around forever. The companies that make Ephedra also give an S-load of money to policitians. Believe me if Tabacco was invented in 1992 like ephedra it would gone also.
This is another example of some A-hole LIBERAL that feels the gov't can run our lives better than we can.
I used Stacker for like a week. It upset my stomach so I stopped using it and I don't use ephedra based products anymore.
The peosdo version is a very low dosage of ephedra that unless you drink gallons of cough medicine at one time you won't have any adverse effects.

Money talks, bullshit walks. The supplement industry has neither the cash nor a powerful lobby in Washington like the alcohol, tobacco, and drug companies.
Personally, I think the stuff is dangerous and am glad they are banning it. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Maybe it needs to be looked at more closely.
On the other hand, there are other supplements that I take (heart/cholesterol related) that are coming under fire because they are more effective than prescription drugs and have no side effects. The drug companies are trying to make the supplement makers put their products through the same testing. In one way, that would be good because then it would be considered a drug, our family doctor could prescribe it, and then my prescription plan would cover it. On the other hand, this type of thing may drive some of the smaller companies out of business.

The supplement industry has plenty of money.. That is the main reason the FDA hasn't done shit about them. They are the least regulated industry, nothing that is produced is checked since it's all considered "NATURAL".
Oh and it was the FDA under the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION that went lacks with the approval of all the drugs in the early 90's. That is why now every WONDERDRUG has a list of side-effects that are 2 miles long...
Under Reagan a drug had to work prefectly to get approved.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to blame the LIBERALs since Fucking CHUCK "I NEED TO BE ON TV EVERY 5 FUCKING SECONDS TO SPEND 100 million TAX DOLLARS to investigate every little fucking thing" SCHUMER has been hawking this ban for years. Also the Ban on EPHEDRA started here in SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY, where I live, before the summer, the bill written by the DEM's in the legislature passed since they have the majority.
Then NY state banned it.. OH yea ALBANY a bastion of CONSERVATIVE ideals(SARCASM)....
And then the FEDERAL BAN.

If they wanna ban something I say they should ban nyquil. That shit f's me up, so it shouldn't be leagal. oh, i don't take it anymore, cause I realized it f's me up. but that doesn't mean I can't help my fellow americans avoid the same side effects I encountered!!!
after that it's down with robatussin!!!

The supplement makers may have SOME money, but they certainly do not have mountains upon mountains of cash that companies such as Merck, Wyeth, Pfizer, and Bristol-Myers Squibb do. The industry itself hasn't been around as long, therefore they don't have the same established network of political connections.
Regardless, it all boils down to the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994. Here's some interesting reading (http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/ds-oview.html#regulate).

up in canada they pulled that ban like over a year ago and one of my buddies went out and spent tons of cash on his pills the had ephidrine in it, i myself am an unresponsible asswipe and abused them for years but the shit finally caught up to me and fucked up my stomach and probably kidneys as well put hey what a rush theres nothing better than that tingly hair feeling, not to mention the feeling that you just slept for 100 hours and just got up. It was great mixing it with :cool3: as well but hey those were my dumb days, i cut that shit out a few years back and would never touch them again.
