Fedex is set to buy kinkos for 4.2 BIllion! This move is interesting and I wonder how FedEx is going to use there new company, there must be some sort of huge benefit of owning a copy company when you also own a couriour/delivery company.

(ed any benefits for this deal?)

I am sure the strategy is this:

UPS bought Mailboxes, Etc. Now they have a buttload of turnkey retail locations that people can do their shipping business at, and it is all exclusively uPS.

FedEx can do the same thing with Kinko's by adding shipping services.

Coming Soon to a strip mall near you...

The Fed Ex store...

I haven't looked into the deal but you'd have to thing that it was in response to UPS buying mailboxes and creating retail outlets for drop-offs and "non-corporate" shippers...

Maybe FedExEd now gets to carry a cool copy machine in his delivery truck.
