LBJ has Nike snatch vids of dunk?
http://gary-parrish.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6271764/15932164
AKRON, Ohio -- The word when I arrived at the LeBron James Skills Academy was that Monday's best highlight came in a pick-up game featuring the college players and James himself. According to the collection of NBA scouts and other folks here, Xavier's Jordan Crawford dunked on James pretty good. So I had to find out whether it was true.
"It happened, and it was bad," said Michael Gilchrist, the top player in the Class of 2011. "That was something to see."
Sorry I missed it.

AKRON, Ohio -- You want to see video of Xavier's Jordan Crawford dunking on LeBron James?
If so, too bad.
Because you're not going to see it.
Thanks to Nike.
Turns out, there were at least two cameras rolling Monday night when Crawford dunked on James during a pick-up game here at the LeBron James Skills Academy. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would've circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen.
Freelance photographer Ryan Miller was one of the cameramen shooting the game.
He told CBSSports.com that Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt took his tape.
"He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too."
Worth noting is that there is no policy against filming at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and Miller said he had been filming all day without incident. Nobody ever told him to stop. Nobody ever said there was a problem ... until after Crawford dunked on James.
"LeBron called Lynn over and told him something," Miller said. "That's how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, 'Hey, Lynn. Come here.'"
Minutes later, Miller said Merritt demanded his tape.
"There's nothing I can think of besides LeBron just not wanting it online," Miller said. "It's a good story to tell people, I guess. But then again, I'm kind of pissed. I lost my tape."

That's pretty fucked up and it is bitch move. Between this and him not shaking hands, you're starting to see some flaws in the fasaud of Prince James.
On a side note, I'm really not looking foward to the year long debate of where Lebron is going to be playing after the 2009-2010 season.

If he truly is going to stay why not sign the contract now?

There was some guy on Pros vs. Joes this year who beat LeBron in HORSE and they showed video of it. LeBron did not look happy. Something tells me this young man is a bit of a sore loser...perceptive, huh?

At this point, it would have been a much better reflection on him if the tapes had come out. Now he got dunked on, and he's a bitch. He's really squandering all of the good will he's built up in a short amount of time.

Lebron is a bitch, your not gonna get an argument from me there.
But this smells like bigger than Lebron and a Nike move. A kind of protect the investment situation. They have built this huge larger than life figure through marketing terms like "King James." This video would hurt that brand, getting dunked on by a High Schooler.
Since it was probably sponsored by them they decided to censor it. I'm sure they would edit every single game tape of Lebron missing a shot if they could.

Remember when John Starks dunked all over Jordan a long time ago? Let's say that happened in private and not at a game: would Jordan pull a bitch move like that? I don't think so.

James called the Nike official over to speak to him and ordered the guy confiscate the tapes. This is all on Lebron.

Do I remember it? It was the highlight of my basketball fan life (which is sad, but the Knicks stink, even when they were good, they couldnt get it done). In New York, it's just called "The Dunk". He really dunked it on Horace Grant, but Jordan was right there so it's good enough.

Not really, but all Jordan did was shit on the Knicks everytime he played them back then. Especially in the Garden. Plus, Michael Jordan dunking on anyone is nothing special. He's the greatest ever. John Starks is John fucking Starks. Plus, The Dunk was after the Knicks blew a huge lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, and it had breathed life back into the Garden and the team, so it was kind of a big deal.
I also remember Vince Carter jumping over Freddy Weis when he was supposed to be the Knicks next big thing.

Actually Jordan Crawford (he is Jamal's younger brother) is a college player. He just transfered to Xavier. He was on ESPN's First Take this morning and I was actually he impressed by the guy. He said all the right things and didn't seem to be in awe of what happened.
Speaking of Nike, they just released a bullshit annoucement saying there was always a no filming policy at these skills camps for 10 years.

if you have played ball against really good players for quite a while, you will get dunked on at some point. it happens to everyone. it wasnt the first and wont be the last time someone dunks on lebron unless he doesnt take a chance defensively. thats the only way to avoid this type of situation. it happens take it like a man
if you want to remember dunks, think back to the tom chambers two handed dunk. his head was above the rim and his nuts gave someone chin music

This is just going to fule anyone who wants to make a name for themselves. I really LIKED Lebron... but this is just lame. They said there was filming all day at the camp as well. Shit only got took after the Prince got dunked on.
Everyone in the League should make an attempt to posterize him next season.

Definite bitch move confiscating the tape.
Who says you have to shake hands after a loss?? In the NHL, it's a tradition that the teams line up and shake, but the NBA has no such tradition. He got beat, he was pissed, he walked off the court. I kind of liked the fact that he was mad. Nobody went bananas last year when the Dodgers didn't go out on the field to shake hands with the Phillies. Seems like people are just looking for a reason to nitpick. Skipping the post-game press conference, OTOH, was a dick move.
The "where will LeBron go" saga will end up surpassing Brett Favre "will he come out of retirement" on the annoying sports story scale.
Absolutely

So after seeing the tape...
Who gives a fuck
It's 10x worse than a surveillance video, and it's just a dunk
Who cares.

I saw it too. Even though its too blurry to tell, the dunk doesn't look that bad. If anything, it makes Lebron look like even a bigger bitch for having the tape confiscated.

Yup, saw it a couple mins ago. It's a boring, straight forward dunk. LeBron jumped in at the end.
