The conversion cost him around 200 bucks not bad seems to only work on DIESEL engines.

I heard about this conversion, but don't know anyone who is
actually doing it yet. Sounds workable.
I heat my repair shop on the oil we take out of cars from oil
changes. There are alot of different types of oils out there
that will burn well, you just have to adapt the system to use
them properly. I only spend about $300.00 a year to heat my
shop because I run out of used oil to burn. Used to spend
over 2 g's a year before I bought the waste oil heater.

Its cool that he can do that.

I actually wanted to buy a diesel jetta for my latest car, but they were doing $3900 off on the 1.8 turbo gas ones so I went with that.

can't wait for 2005, US Diesel must meet European diesel standards and companies like VW are going to start introducing more powerful, fuel efficient engines in the US. Can you say power of a 6 cyl 200hp engine that gets 60 mpg.

Really? When did the gov't pass the leg. about the DIESEL fuel? I think that is great and it's a long time coming. Hey maybe then i'll have the cash to turn in my Mazda and buy a Diesel PASSAT :)

It was something I read on www.clubb5.com I think it was. Its a Passat website/ message board. The new Passat Diesel PD is out this year as a mid year release. The legislation was passed years ago and is just finally taking affect. Stations like BP are already running the low sulfer in some metro areas as the fuel they sell to bus fleets and such.
