It's gonna hinge on injuries and goaltending. If Emery can keep under control and not too many injuries I can totally see it, offense and defense are both really strong. The only thing I'm worried about is penalty minutes. They have said they are building a team they want other teams to fear, which is good, but they are also gonna be targeted by every ref out there and will get called on everything, penalty kill better be good.

Yeah I'm afraid we might be back to the Bobby Clark Days of big, slow and fierce...it's a new game...fast and scoring is premium. I hated seeing Lupul go and of course Knuble in front of the net just had a fucking knack of getting it in. I guess we'll see if snipers and big defensivemen will work this day and age. I think emery in the playoffs will be good to go.

Young kid from the Phantoms 18- 19 maybe, i think they brought him in b/c Boucher has the 'lower body' injury and i think they just wanted to see what he could do...he was excellent at watching pucks go past him...let in 3 in regulation and another 3 in the shootout

I'm glad they got to see what he could do in a game situation, so they can adjust, might have to add another goalie to the Phantoms or something just in case Boucher is out a while or it becomes a nagging thing. Just looked it up Backlund is 28, alot older than i thought.

What I see so far:
The team is quicker especially on defense. Youth is served up well on this team!
Passing is much better.
Back of the net offense is going to very dangeous with this crew.
Emery has been pretty damn spectacular. He was obviously upset with the goals he gave up to NJ (which he was screened on for the most part-not his fault). I love his skills.
They don't panic with the lead. The Vets on this team have really jelled well with the younger kids.
Big team obviously, but not slow to the puck nor are they boarding people simply because they can. They seem to use their size wisely unlike some of our past big guys.

Not putting them down, I'm just still not used to the idea of them being more than basically a farm team for the Flyers. That and I just had the old school hatred for every team in the division(Patrick at the time) instilled in me.
(and by farm team I mean that it seemed like for a while, their GM would make whatever trade the Flyers wanted for whatever they were trying to unload)
