That being said, they wouldn't have hit Lee tonight if he pitched another 9 innings. To a man their approach at the plate was horrid, particularly the top of the lineup who were 0-2 before they stepped into the batter's box. It was like watching a team with 6 or 7 Alfonso Sorianos.

I rememeber during the regular season, I kept saying I didn't like the fact that Girardi kept pulling Hughes form the game in certain situations. That he needed to take his lumps then to get him ready for the post season. Flash foward to the playoffs and you can see the effect that has had on Hughes.
