Surprise hit him
By JONATHAN JENKINS, TORONTO SUN
As plans go, it was as subtle as a flying mallet. Peel cops say a man was lured blindfolded into his garage on Cadillac Cr. on Brampton on Friday on the pretense that he was getting a surprise.
The surprise turned out to be a mallet to the head, allegedly from his wife, who police say persuaded him to wear the blindfold in the first place.
The man, 38, took two blows to the head before he bolted from the garage screaming for help.
Police allege the woman went inside the house, stabbed herself in the gut with a kitchen knife and called police to say she had just been stabbed by her husband.
The couple, who have been married for 13 years and have a teenaged daughter, were both taken to hospital.
The man was released but the woman is in Sunnybrook hospital with a life-threatening stab wound.
Tina Pillmajer, 35, has been charged with aggravated assault.
