Porn star vanished

Mississauga woman focus of U.S. search

Police south of the border are looking for a missing Mississauga porn star who vanished while at a photo shoot there last month. Natel King, who goes by the stage name Taylor Sumers, was last seen in a Philadelphia suburb on Feb. 29.

That was also the last time her friends or family in Canada spoke to her.

Const. Craig Platt, Peel Regional Police spokesman, said King, 23, was reported missing by her roommate, but she also has family in the region.

CAR IDENTIFIED

"Once it was confirmed that she was seen in the United States, it became the responsibility of the police down there," Platt said.

Montgomery County assistant district attorney Risa Ferman said King was last seen in a town called Conshohocken., near Philadelphia, where she had been for a photo shoot as a model in the adult entertainment industry.

King's car, a 1992 red Saturn, was found parked on a Conshohocken street on Friday.

King has starred in such erotic films as Naughty College Couples 6, but according to her online resume, she prefers to work in print.

Porn star riddle deepens

U.S. cops interview Mississauga family, pals

Montgomery County detectives searching for missing Mississauga porn star Natel King returned to the U.S. yesterday after meeting with her parents and Peel police. King, or Taylor Sumers in the adult entertainment business, vanished in Conshohocken, near Philadelphia, Feb. 29.

Her roommate and relatives in Mississauga reported her missing to Peel Regional Police after not hearing from her.

The 23-year-old's mother, Jackie King, told NBC's Philadelphia affiliate, that her daughter had gone to the U.S. for a photo shoot and to visit a new boyfriend.

"This is suffering beyond what anyone can ever imagine," King said.

Last Friday, Montgomery police searched an apartment doubling as a photo studio where her 1996 Saturn was found, said King's friend, fellow adult entertainer, Autumn Rayne.

The photographer told friends King was at the apartment for the shoot and went on foot to get something to eat. But he never saw her after that, and never bothered to tell anyone that she left her car sitting in the parking lot outside the apartment for the next three days, said Rayne.

"I know her and she's not the type to take off," Rayne said.

"She did travel on her own, but she's careful. I told her it wasn't smart, but she's 23, and thinks she's invincible."

Rayne suspects something terrible has happened to her friend, but she's trying to remain positive.

"I don't have a good feeling about this, but they have to find her, no matter where she is."

No evidence of foul play has been found, but even King's mother believes her daughter is in trouble.

King said she had concerns when Natel told her she wanted to work in the adult entertainment industry to raise money for college.

"We told her that this is an area that is very dangerous and she may not have the control she thinks she has," King told NBC.

Natel is 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with long blond hair and hazel eyes.

First off I miss the hell out of O and A...nuff said. The broad they found that they figure is that Canadian girl Natel King (porn name Taylor Sumers) was right outside my building...we share the building with Philly radio station Y-100 (not cool enough to carry O and A). There is a massive bike/walking path that goes around much of Conshohocken and the body was found closer to the building than my parking spot. I heard about it as it was breaking but I thought my leg was being pulled. The body fit the description..word has it the girl was in the trade to rustle up college funds. People at my work just milling around outside even got questioned. Sorry for her family.

WHITEMARSH TWP, PA-March 24, 2004 — Prosecutors have charged a Montgomery County photographer with murdering a woman believed to be a 23-year-old Canadian porn actress missing for nearly a month.

Anthony Joseph Frederick, 46, of Eagleville, was charged with first- and third-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possessing an instrument of crime. He was also charged with lying to authorities.

Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said prosecutors were certain the victim was actress and model Natel King, also known by the stage name Taylor Sumers.

The woman died of multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck, and her body was wrapped in a backdrop similar to the type used by photographers, Castor said. He said she also suffered wounds on her hands.

"Obviously, she put up a fight against her attacker," Castor said. "I believe, and investigators believe, that she met her demise at the hands of Anthony Frederick, as part of a sexual bondage fantasy."

However, Castor said, there may also have been a dispute over money.

Another woman, identified as Jennifer Mitkus, 29, of Oaks, was also charged with lying to authorities and hindering apprehension, Castor said. Authorities believe she had acted as an assistant to the photographer.

Frederick told investigators he took 20 digital photos of King on Feb. 29. He and Mitkus said she was paid $900 and left.

In photos Frederick provided, the woman was displaying bondage paraphernalia similar to that found with the body, and the photos showed a tattoo and a birthmark similar to marks found on the body, Castor said.

In a studio used by Frederick, Castor said authorities found "a handwritten poem dealing with cutting and bleeding."

Castor said the poem read, "Cut with a knife, blood does flow/You may bleed out, death coming on slow...," but he didn't know whose handwriting the verse was in.

Frederick was arrested around midnight, less than a day after the body was found near the Schuylkill River in Whitemarsh Township, Castor said.

It was not immediately clear Wednesday afternoon if Frederick or Mitkus had obtained attorneys and they could not be reached for comment.

The woman had come to Conshohocken for a photo shoot and was last seen in the area with the photographer on Feb. 29. That was the last time she called any family or friends, authorities said. Her car was found parked on a Conshohocken street a few days later.

The body was found in a rocky, heavily wooded area near the river, about 30 feet from a road, with a severe gash on one hand.

S&M props on body

When Natel King's body was found she was wearing a S&M ball-gag device and a chain with small clips that could be tightened with tension screws located partially under her body. Also found was a rope used as a sexual restraint device, and duct tape.

Her body was partially covered by a drape with multiple slashes in it and spattered with what appears to be dried blood. The drape is also identical to a backdrop in a photo of a model on Anthony Joseph Frederick's porn Web site, police say.

A police search of Frederick's photo studio recovered pieces of white cord, shackles attached to the basement ceiling, duct tape, a battery-operated sexual stimulation device covered with what appeared to be dried blood, and a handwritten poem dealing with cutting and bleeding.

The body of missing Mississauga bondage porn model Natel King has been found in a rural Pennsylvania ravine and her fetish photographer is charged with murder. King, 23, who was found dead in a remote Norristown, Pa. ravine on Tuesday, was repeatedly stabbed in the chest and neck. There were also many defensive wounds to both of her hands.

"She put up quite a fight against her attacker," U.S. district attorney Bruce Castor said yesterday from Norristown.

"I believe that she met her demise at the hands of (photographer) Anthony Frederick, as part of a sexual bondage fantasy," he said.

CORPSE ABUSED

Frederick, 46, has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and possession of a knife. He was ordered held in custody yesterday without bail.

King, who used the stage name Taylor Sumers, had not been heard from since Feb. 29, when she was posing in kinky pictures for Frederick. Investigators said Frederick told them he took 20 digital photos of King. He reportedly said she was paid $900 U.S. and left. In photos Frederick provided, the woman was wearing bondage paraphernalia similar to that found with the body, and the photos showed a tattoo and a birthmark similar to marks found on the body, Castor said.

Porn star Autumn Rayne, who lives in North Carolina and was a friend of King, recently refused to work with Frederick because he was too "creepy."

"He had contacted both of us. I just thought he was too scary. I'm horrified that it could have been me," Rayne said.

TRAVELLED ALONE

"The problem with Natel is she would travel and work alone. It breaks my heart to know it was her."

The last known conversation King had was on her cellphone with her Mississauga roommate, Curtis Shears, while she was still shooting the bondage photos with Frederick.

"(She said) the guy was kind of weird, and that she was worried. I asked if she was worried about not getting paid or getting killed and she said, 'I don't know. Both,' " Shears said.

King's family had been holding out hope she would be found alive. "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy -- what we have had to go through in the last three weeks," Daniel King said yesterday after getting confirmation his daughter was dead.

Frederick's assistant, Jennifer Mitkus, 29, has been charged with lying to authorities and hindering apprehension.

WHITEMARSH, Pa. - A Canadian porn actress found stabbed to death last month may have been killed while shooting a film that was to have simulated the murder of a woman during sex, prosecutors said.

DNA clues and a scrawled note referring to a "snuff" video connect photographer Anthony J. Frederick to the death of 23-year-old Natel King, whose body was found in a trash-filled ravine in March, District Attorney Bruce Castor said at a preliminary hearing Friday.

Frederick's attorney, Daniel-Paul Alva, said his client had nothing to do with snuff videos.

"We don't know who killed her," he said. "What we do know is that my client is in the unsavory business of photographing women in very compromising positions. But that kind of business was entered into voluntarily by the victim."

Frederick, 46, was being held for trial on first- and third-degree murder charges. His assistant, Jennifer Mitkus, 29, was held on charges of lying to authorities and hindering apprehension.

King, who was from the Toronto area, disappeared Feb. 29 after posing for Fredericks in a hard-core bondage shoot that had been arranged over the Internet, authorities said. Her body was found nearly a month later, naked and slashed and still wearing bondage devices.

Castor said police found a note in a camera bag in Frederick's home that served as a contract between a photographer and an actor. It listed various types of video and photo shoots and used the phrase "snuff vid."

A snuff video is a pornographic film depicting someone being murdered, but prosecutors believe King was supposed to only simulate death in the video.

Detectives obtained several bloodstained items from Frederick's car and from his apartment in the Philadelphia suburb of Conshohocken, and the DNA matched that of Frederick and King, authorities said.

Authorities said still photos Frederick provided to police after his arrest show King displaying bondage paraphernalia similar to a leather device found with her body.
