it they prove it i say rip their name out of the record book. but if they can't prove it i say they have to just leave everything the wat it is. it sucks but there is nothing else you can do if you don't catch the guys.

I agree. If they bust anyone, they get yanked out of the books AND BANNED FROM BASEBALL. An asterisk was a bad idea in '61 and it's a bad idea now, albeit for different reasons.

exactly. personaly i could care less who juices... i have buddies that have gotten huge in a matter of months from juicing. the problem i have with it is baseball players are shiting on the old records, think how long 61 homeruns stayed in the record book. thats because it was a hell of a record and i wanted someone to break it... but not by cheating.

but then you would actually have to prove that at the time they were taking it. that would be the only problem. they need to do what the olympics does with its athletes. test befroe and afterwards. thats the only real way you could police it from season to season.

So very true... Even if Bonds tested positive for steroids now or some kind of new steroid that they would now ban, they can't change the records. If it wasn't banned at the time then the record stays. Baseball is so lax on drug testing that it was only a matter of time. But you have to wonder if Bonds is taking roids though since he came to Spring Training just as big as he was last year yet Giambi reported much smaller. Also aren't steroids supposed to shorten your career? We saw what happened to McGwire towards the end yet Bonds is 39 and still going strong. I have no idea what to believe anymore.

yeah i agrree with everybody, but how do you prove bond or anyybody took steroids back in '98? thtas my problem.

look at hank aaron(sP) he never hit fifty homers in his career. is bonds better hitter then aaron?

i mean c'mon... mike shmidt is the best hitting 3rd basemen ever. and he never hit 50 homers in a season.\

baseball is a coming of age. what i mean is....a man and his son can bond at a baseball game. it's not like hockey b-ball or football.

shit man i agree with everything said in this threat.... and i am drunk as fuck all my college buddies are home for spring break and i am fucked... but baseball needs to do somthing... its real shitty to think marris will mean nothing to my kids... i mean fuck i wasn't alive when he did his shit but how can you not respect and remember that shit. i am a yankee fan as most of you know and i am embarrassed about this shit going on. i mean jason was huge now he looks like me.... thats fucked up, i hope baseball can fix this somehow because i live and die by baseball, i hope it can clean it self up so people can only say the yanks spend too much money (which is allowed but current rules) not that they are a bunch of cheaters. well i am real drunk and will regret this post tomorrow, but i think you all know what i am feeling now.... and i don't think i made too many spelling errors... did i?

What I want happen is REMOVE THE DAM ASTERIX from Maris's 61 homer season. I mean if Mark McQwire(sp?) and Bonds and Sosa can blow away 61 homers in a season than MARIS's asterix should be removed. I mean oohhh big deal he beat ruth in a 162 game season and not in 154 games.
