I'm going to get a portable CD/MP3 player, and I was looking online at some of them. I don't want to spend more than $70, but I don't want one that's too cheap and shitty, any suggestions? And do I need to buy different disks for the MP3s, or can I use regular CDs for them, how does this actually work? Thanks for any help!

A CD/MP3 player will play audio CD's or CD's with .MP3 files on them. Pretty much any blank CDR discs will do. Some players can play CDRW media, others cannot.

By the way, your avatar is very disturbing...

for the past 18 months i have been using the panasonic sl-mp3 cd/mp3 player. it plays great, dosn't skip and sees all the files i put onto a cd (some players are limited in how much they can see and play). it plays reg cds and mp3 cds. it ran me $80 august of 2002 and i take it everywhere. had it on me at the roast.

oh
i know nothing about the "atrac3" .. format
i just put all my mp3s i wanna listen to, together .. and burn em all via "data" to a cd-r

the cd player came with a disc to do what you are talking about, but i just use my "ez cd creator" program

i haven't had any problems playing any files or high/low bit rate mp3s ...

oh, and i'm SURE you can get one of those at "best buy", "walmart", "target" ... any of those places

yeah it plays the mp3 format as well, but if you take the time to make one with the atrac3 file you can fit a lot more shit onto one cd. even without the atrac3 its a great cd player.
