i think we need a thread to help us with our grieving(sp?)
well, i don't have any great memories. but ni do remember walking all along the toop (700 lvevel) and stopping infront if the fanavision to do the wave.
but this is one of my favs:
my bro and i bought tix for father's day. the yankees were playing, so you know there were planty of real or front running yankee fans there.
so of course the yanks jump all over the phillis. its 6-2 (or something like that) and the new yorkers are loving it.high 5ing and shit. laughing at us and how bad the phillies are. we just took it because it was 30-3 in their favor
well the phils slowly make a comeback...a run here....a run there. and the yank fans keep getting more quite as he phils come back.
well, the phillies DO win it in he 9th, but lo and behold not a yankee fan left in my section. LOL!!!! must of been giant fans too.
anyother philly area have memories?

I've got a boatload of Vet memories... Saw Pink Floyd in concert there... Saw countless Phillies games there, a few Eagles games, a couple college football games, and even tractor pulls one time.
I remember we shared full-season Phillies tickets for a few years when I was in my teens with some other people my father worked with. We got like 20 games a season, plus we always got tickets to other games that people couldn't use, etc. It seems like only yesterday. I remember the seats were section 318, row 4, behind first base.
I was there when Phanavision was unveiled. It was a scheduled doubleheader, and went into a rain-delay during the first game. The rain never let up, from what I recall.
I remember having tickets in the 700 level and sneaking down to the 300 level to sit with friends who had seats down there.
I was there when they honored the late, great Richie Ashburn. I actually teared up during the great tribute given by Harry the K.
I remember going to the last Phillies game at the Vet. I remember how sad I was that day. I walked full-circle on each concourse, 200 level, 300 level, 600 level, and 700 level before leaving for the last time. It was a sad day. The post-game ceremonies were nice, but I still felt sick over the impending fate of the Vet.

I went once..I was in town doing sound for a band over the July 4th weekend 1976. Dodgers were in town, so i had to go. The Phils lost 4-0. I think Kaat pitched, but not sure.
I was very careful to wear a Phillies T-shirt, and not cause trouble. In the eighth inning I remember thinking to my self.."these are true fans..nobodys leaving early".
I'm glad I got to go once, and am sad to see the Vet gone.

I saw countless Philly's games there, some good, some bad.
Loved seeing them all. I remember the celebration after the Phil's
won the World Series. Got an autographed Mike Schmidt ball.
Saw David Bowie during his "Glass Spider" tour there. Peter Frampton
played with him. Saw the Stones during their "40 Licks" tour too.
Never actually went to an Eagles game but saw just about everyone
that was ever televised from there. I remember when it was built,
to replace Connie Mack and Franklin Field. Gonna miss the Vet.
Took my boys to many a game there. They never knew anywhere else.

I saw a ton of Phillies games, and only a handful of Eagles games, so I suppose the Phils take up more space in my Good Memory area of my brain. I guess the game I remember best was the time in 1977 (I was a young lad with tussle-able hair) when the Phils played the Expos. We had tickets right behind 1st base. Carlton was pitching, and he was absolutely lights out. He even hit a home run in that game. I can still smell the food, the guy smoking a pipe over to my left. I also liked the drink vendors - I guess it was the days before lids were invented. All the beers and sodas had plastic wrap covering them. Nice touch......
