Speculation has been rampant that former WNEW shock jocks Opie and Anthony, whose claim to fame was the sex stunt at St. Patrick's Cathedral, will be back on the air somewhere by June 1. The duo's agent has said that is not so. Also, if you consider the current zero-tolerance climate, the idea of stations lining up to put O&A back on the air seems unlikely.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, but The Star-Ledger is an AP member, and has much more extensive fact-checking than the Associated Press. It's an excellent newspaper.

Keep in mind, the report was the agent said they won't be on the air around June 1. One, that means the agent is saying this. Secondly, is satellite radio considered "on the air?"

Good points, I was just being a wise ass. I trust very few people for info and never the press.

I took it to be a matter of semantics. They won't be on the air "by June 1". Of course they won't. They can't speak publicly about it until June 1, so naturally they won't already be on the air June 1.

Of course, it could just be that they can't legally divulge that there's a deal in place until after the contract is up.

Exactly. If their agent said anything, it could F the deal up.
