This has probably been discussed before, but I was wondering where everyone will be on June 1?
I will coincidentally be off from work, extending the Memorial Day weekend. I haven't made any plans yet, because I don't want to be away from the TV or computer when the announcement comes.

I'll be right here. Waiting for the news and beging someone for a feed.
I deleted my su folder by mistake a while back. Thank god I have wost of backed up on cds. Anyone wanna hook a brotha up with a current su list ?
My web host is offering me a shoutcast server with support for 200 people at 128k and a low bitrate stream. So I'm might be able to relay someones stream, when the boys come back. I don't know when the servers will be available however.

I don't know about others, but when they do return you can count me out with any feeds. CBS Lawyers were one thing, but when money to listen is involved? Those lawyers plan on coming after people hard. I think SU should take the turn from a live/relay/replay feed idea to more of a file sharing form where people can swap copies of the show. So on June 1st i'll be cancelling my Live365 account and being more involved with the O&A Virus Spreader. The only thing stopping me now is the feed and how the Virus Spreader slows down my connection big time.

i am with sblue on the legality issues, so don't look for any live feeds. the file sharing seems the most plausable.
in any event, june 1st i'll be looking for news on the comeback, then the following days i'll be looking for someone with satilaite radio so i can at least hear the first show live.

Just because your cheap, dosent mean your gonna get to listen to the feed.

I'll be here at Ft. Bliss Texas, getting ready to graduate from AIT. I just graduated basic training April 22nd, this it the first time I've gotten to use a computer in about two months. I should be out of here in early June. We get a lot more freedom at AIT, we get an hour of personal time a night where we can use the computer, and mostly all day saturday and sunday, so I'll be checking this site a lot more for news of their return. Y'all don't know how much I've enjoyed browsing this board today, thanks.

on to the SU thing...
SU was around to bring O&A to people in other parts of the country who couldnt hear o&a because it was not aired in their part of the nation. it never took away profits from o&a or their employers. such a thing would be damaging to the show. steaming the show via web will take subscribers away from the company they work for, causing less profits for the people paying o&a. sounds to me like a scummy thing to do as fans of a show.

I know you didn't say that Rob.
SU was REQUESTED by O&A after they fouond out it was being done, to yes, bring the show to people who coun't get it.
My point is, why not wait to hear from the boys and see what they want to do about SU. They might just say "Hey, you guys have been a loyal bunch of fuckers, waiting as long as you did." and say to continue!

Truthfully, you sound like Spaz sounded on the site he created. He kept telling people that they don't know about how O&A feel about him just because they haven't explicitly made a statement regarding him recently. Your claims ofWho the hell are you guys to talk for O&A?
are exactly the same. Just because Op and Ant haven't recently detailed exactly how they'd feel about someone pirating their feed from a subscription service doesn't mean we can't realistically figure out how they likely feel about it. Like other people in this thread said, the whole point of SU was to get word about the show out to people who weren't in areas where the show would be broadcast. If the show goes to a satellite radio company, the need to syndicate the show would no longer exist. Syndicating the show for free online if it is theorhetically available to everyone can do nothing but hurt the show. If the show becomes available for free online, many people who would otherwise go out and buy Sirius/XM would decide to just use the free feed. This lack of subscribers could have a negative impact on both the satellite company as well as O&A themselves (whoever hires them would likely be counting on - AND PAYING FOR - an expected surge in subscriptions; if this doesn't occur, it makes O&A look like they can't draw an audience). If the perception is that O&A can't generate interest in the satellite company, their value to the company goes down, potentially to the point where the company decides to fire them/not renew their contracts when they are up. Therefore, even though O&A haven't explicitly stated not to pirate the show once it's on satellite, it's pretty reasonable to think that they won't want it done. And even if you don't directly pirate the show yourself, you're contributing to the problem by listening to a pirated feed.
Like you said, satellite radio - and, by proxy, an O&A show on satellite radio - is a luxury you can't afford. If you're a real fan of the show, you wouldn't contribute to something that is potentially injurious to Op and Ant's careers.

If they decide they want to syndicate the show online for a bit for free to get people hooked again, then that is a decision they'll be able to make themselves. I'm sure that if they want to stream the show for free for a while, they can request that from Sirius, who would likely let them. Again, though, it's their decision to make, and in this case, it wouldn't actually be "syndication underground"; it would be a completely legal way to preview the program.

As has been speculated, the best way for Op and Ant to do their return is to give an announcement of where they'll be a reasonable amount of time before they actually return, in order to allow people to get the systems installed. And again, if Op and Ant/their satellite company *choose* to make a free feed available for a certain period of time in order to make sure people who haven't gotten the equipment can listen (and, from a marketing standpoint, that would probably be a REALLY good idea), then that would be awesome. However, it ought to be their choice, and they shouldn't be subjected to a bunch of people pirating the feed of their show without their consent. Hopefully, the company that they sign with can eventually make a feed available online for legitimate subscribers (I know Sirius currently doesn't do this with their talk stations).
Regarding your allegations of mocking your reasons for not getting Sirius, it wasn't meant as this great attack against a "supermod" (as you eloquently stated in your personal message to me); I had/have no idea who you are. I started checking this board periodically a few months ago to see where O&A were coming back. I'm not necessarily integrated with the culture of this board, and didn't know something said in jest would evoke such a spirited reaction (and, while on the topic I'm not sure an icon is comparable to calling someone "assfuck"). I figured an O&A fan could take a joke. Calm down, man.
To everyne else who reads this as some sort of fight/negativity: My apologies. I took issue with the idea of streaming the show for free because of the likely impact such piracy would have on the show; any perceived "mocking" was meant in fun.
