FU to my TV that shit the bed on me last night while I was in the middle of watching a movie. It was nothing great, just a plan RCA 25". Now I gotta shell out some dough for a new one. At least I had a spare 20" lying around.

Sony...........it's all that I buy. They look great and they
last forever. I still have a Betamax vcr that works.
I love em. Yeah, they cost more, but you get what you
pay for.:xyxthumbs

Sony!
The only name in televisions!
They have been the industry standard since the name Trinitron was created.

Gonna check with my uncle. He works for Circuit City at their repair place where they send all their stuff to get fixed. I wonder if he gets a discount...

I have an old RCA by the computer that does the same thing, until I smack it on the back of the set.
When it goes, I'm moving one of the Sonys over.

I bought my "1st" TV in 1989...27" RCA...STILL my main TV in the house...never had a problem, colors are still "vibrant" and I've moved like 10 times with this fucking TV banging around!! I'll buy another RCA for sure when it's time!

Hitichi will give you a nice bang for your buck too.
I still feel that Sony is the leader.
Just look for a sale at Circuit City.

I had a Zenith that was my "first" tv that served me well for many years until some dumbass (read: me) left the window open during a rainstorm and the rain blew inside the back of the tv.

It was replaced by the RCA that just crapped out. But that TV was pretty old, and I had it a long time.

I'm waiting for the sale ads for this weekend.

Rather than creating a new thread, I figured I'd just post in this one.

After checking with my uncle, I decided to avoid Sony. He recommended Philips and Panasonic. I trust him. He's been in the business for 30 years.

I picked up my new TV today. I got a Philips 30" widescreen CRT HDTV. It's pretty F'ing sweet. Price was right too. I practically stole it for $525. Street price nearly everywhere is $799.

I am watching Almost Famous on DVD right now.

Nice. My pop is looking at a 53" Panasonic projection. The picture is amazing. Best projection picture I have ever seen.

I would have never thought of buying a Mitsubishi projection TV, but a friend of mine that runs a high end electronics store had one left. And he could get it for me at the same price as the 36 inch Phillips I was also looking at. I was still not going to get it until he sat me down and showed me the picture on it. I tell ya, I didn't know Mitsubishi had it in 'em to make a picture that good.

Our 27" has been on the brink for at least 3 months.Every channel is sepia. We had to hook up our color 13" on top if it.I can't see the fucker from across the room.We checked out best buy, nice prices for flat screen. Now hubby wants the new TV for football season, and I want XM radio. :icon_cry: We can't afford both....gawd i'm gonna have a nervous breakdown knowing I can't hear the bboys anymore....

Why not get the XM box for the PC? It's only, like $40 or so... Or just $50 for the old Roady...
