I had a clog in my main sewer line. I borrowed a 100 foot snake and cleared
the line, so I knew the problem was at the main sewer dump.
Some asshole told my wife it would cost 300 bucks to clear the main.
I found out a friend of mine had a plunger that would clear the clog
and lent it to me for free. Then I found out it should only cost about
a buck and a quarter to fix it if I let a plumber do it.
Fuck You asswipe! I fixed myself for free and you get nothing!
I would have paid the buck and a quarter if you weren't so greedy.

They suck. I had a main-line blockage and it was like 400 because they had to use two coils with the rooter machine, and they had to do it from the roof because they couldn't find the cleanout that is buried somewhere in the yard.

Anyone who is in the "service" industry(auto mechanic, plumber, repairman) will try to rip you off. i should know, i'm in the service industry.

That's not true, I'm in the service industry, and I don't rip anyone off. I agree that plumber's rates are way out of line, and they seem to go up when quoted to a woman. I find that disgusting. BB1 that plunger costs about 5 bucks at home depot, add a couple lengths of 1/2" gas pipe for another 10 bucks and you got a drain plunger. The 125 sounds like plumber rates from this area, god it makes me sick.

I worked for a plumber a few years ago...
He paid me $11:00 an hour and billed me to the customers at $65:00 an hour.
I didn't work for that shit for too long!

I'm just pissed cause I told her to tell them it was out at the vent, she
did and they still insisted that the drains needed to be snaked.
I already did that, I knew it wasn't a clog in my house. They were just
playing her for extra cash. BTW, I run an auto repair shop and I don't
dick people like that, either.

Especially if the customer doesnt know too much about the cost of materials, and how much work really needs to be done. if you get someone who is just desprate to get their equipment running(car, fridge etc.) i can see someone taking advantage of them. it happens everyday. fortunately BB1 knew better -but if he was a little old lady with the same plumber it might have been a diffrent story. thats all i'm trying to say if you think about it really.......
BTW: i dont rip anyone off either, but i've seen it done b4 and it happened to me back when i didnt know any better
