I'd like to send myself a nice big FU. I never call out sick. I've missed about 3 days in three years due to illness. I was scheduled to work 10 out of 11 days over the past two weeks, though, so I was going to call out sick today and just relax. I noticed on the schedule, though, that doing that would wind up making the two other day-shift employees who actually do their jobs work extra hard while the lazy people continued being lazy, so I didn't call out. It turned out that there was another employee not on the schedule I had who wound up working to cover for a person who quit, though, so there was no need for me to feel bad about making the other two people do more work. Plus, the day just sucked ass all around. I showed up at 8 AM, and was pissed so bad that I used the big C word in front of female co-workers by about 8:30 (it wasn't directed at them, though, and they laughed when I said it, so it was OK).
Let this be a lesson to you all. If you're thinking about using a sick day to get away from the stress you get from the lazy bastards in your office, you'd better do it. If you don't, that day will suck hard. So, FU to me for being a pussy and not putting myself first for a change. Maybe some other time (not Thursday, though--unfortunately).
