FU to Hurricanes

As a floridian i'd like to give a big FU to the Hurricanes that are coming. I'll sit in my house by the beach and watch everyone freak out. Calm down people, it's just a little wind and rain, so fu hurricane for making everyone freak out.

i would honestly hope for one if i knew it wasn't the most AWFUL idea in the world to hook up with my housemate...

however...if YOU were willing to shell out the money for plane tickets, i might be willing to hope for one again. :icon_wink

i'm actually considering buying a house down in FL. but thhe thought of a hurricane blowing all my stuff away every few years is the only thing keeping me from doing it. is it just a matter of building a stronger house or is every floridian screwed? has your house ever been damaged??

Build a concrete bunker, then make the outside look like a trailer home on cement blocks.

Of the 6 years i've been down here i've never had any damage due to hurricane or anything. I've lived in a log cabin style house and now have a concrete/brick house by the beach. The hurricane pretty much missed us, very little rain and some wind. we've had worse thunderstorms. Central florida on the other hand got screwed. i wouldn't let storms affect your purchase decision, most places are fine, it's the trailers that really get messed up. right now the problem is loss of power, not really property damage.
