Hello all. I live in NY and have been a loyal opie and anthony fan for years, well since they came to NY. I am also a Sirius Subrscriber, who, like many had my fingers crossed that they would come to the dog. Unfortunatly, I was crushed to learn they were headed to XM. I love Sirius and will not be giving it up, I have it hard wired into my car, and I like it too much.

When they made the announcement about XM, I was like, well I can live without the show, and have been fine for the last few months. But, now, with october being around the corner, it is really starting to kill me that I won't be able to listen to the guys. They will be on next week, and I can't get em. My question is, do you guys think it is worth it to have both services just to get XM? What are my options of getting XM, cheaper the better. I would probably have to listen to the rebroadcasts later in the day being I work inside during the morning drive. Have any of you guys gotten XM just for the boys, do any of you guys have both services. I don't know what to do, damn, this sucks.

oh yeah, is there a way to listen online without getting the equipment? Does XM have a paid online service where you can get them on, or is there anything like syndication underground in the works?? Please help

why do you think sirius is so much better than XM? how do you know you won't get XM and find it to be just as good, if not better than sirius?

oh, and as far as options, i suggest you get in on the $49 skyfi deal... more info here:

I haven't listened to radio in 2 years because the bbboys were of fthe air, I can't stand listening to the music that's on the radio today. When O and A went to XM I really thought that I would only get XM just to listen to the bbbboys but man was I wrong when I got the XM hooked up. I love it! There's so many channels you can listen to and the stuff they play is great. You hear songs you've never heard in a long time, songs that you'd never imagine you'd hear on the radio, and all sorts of other stuff. I just drove to and from Boston from Long Island and I was checking out a lot of the different channels. I found myself listening to the Cinema music channel for a while, it was cool.

I say it's very worth to get XM, cause besides all the music variety, news, weather and traffic, talk, etc, theres what's really important; Opie and Anthony. XM will have online streaming but I believe it's only for the music stations. XM plus the O and A subscription is only 11.98$ a month and well worth it. I say hit the special offer for the cheap roady and skyfi beore the 30th if you're going to get it.

Oh and don't ask about SU. 1st rule about SU is, you don't talk about SU. With XM being the new bosses they're gonna crack down hard on SU, so best to not even mention it, here on the board anyway.

ok here i the deal i have had both and truth be told i like the dog better. but as soon as the boys said they were going to xm i got myself a xmpcr and i love that too it cost me 50 bucks so thats pretty cheap. not to mention that if you use the foundry deal you can get a roady for 50 then all you have to do is get a car kit and thats gonna run you another 50, although you can find a rebate in most sunday papers for it. hope i could help and get your self a xm system only for the boys

Both of the Roady's are packaged with the car kit. You just need a home kit...

Also, you can try ebay for XM equipment. If you go to xm411.com, there's a thread for used equipment for sale. But I think that the 50 deal for the Roady is the best deal.

thanks guys, but it is a known fact that Sirius has far superior content over that of XM. The only thing they don't have is OandA. Maybe I will look into getting that deal. I really want to check out what the boys will be doing.

i wouldn't go that far. where is it a known fact that sirius has more superior content over that of XM? XM has a lot more subscribers than sirius. i guess if you're a big nfl fan, then maybe you would think it's a better service.
to be honest, i can't exactly say that it doesn't have superior content. i've never had sirius. i guess i won't either.
but you have the option of figuring this out for yourself. if you haven't got a multi-month deal with sirius, drop them for a couple of months and switch to xm. get yourself a roadie, like these guys mentioned, and get hooked up pronto. you may have to eat both subscriptions for a month , but at least you'll get the show. it'll be worth it if you are that big of a fan.

then, if you're not completely satisfied with what XM has to offer...

true tirus, I just read that the boys will be re-played all day. Maybe I will get the home unit first. If I wanted to add it to the car later, would that be a big deal?

thanks guys, but it is a known fact that Sirius has far superior content over that of XM. The only thing they don't have is OandA. Maybe I will look into getting that deal. I really want to check out what the boys will be doing. How exactly did you come up with the statement that "it's a known fact that Sirius has far superior content over that of XM"? It seems that would be based on opinion wouldn't it? Although I've never had Sirius and don't claim to be an expert on it, I have read the many posts from annoyed Sirius subs on the forums at www.siriusbackstage.com (http://www.siriusbackstage.com/) who claim that Sirius has an FM mentality when it comes to programming. They claim their channels are "hits" based and repeat songs so frequently as to be annoying. You can also read where some are actually switching to XM to hear some fresh music. I chose satellite radio to get away from FM programming.

As I said before I've never had Sirius but I guess whichever service you like better is based on your tastes. If you like hearing playlists that dig a little deeper playing songs that you've never heard before or songs that you never thought you would hear on the radio then XM is the better service. If you like hearing instantly recognizable hits and don't mind hearing them often then Sirius is the better service. Personally I enjoy discovering new music and hearing obscure tracks and really don't like listening to NFL games (I would rather watch them on TV) so I think O&A made the right choice.

Try the $49 Roady or SkyFi deal and listen to XM for a while. You may hear something you like and change your mind about Sirius being the better service. If not, you can always go back to Sirius.
