I want to know if any one owns a Delphi Skyfi Wireless FM Modulator SA10081. Do you get good reception?
I have the boombox, and the home kit. I wanted to buy the car kit but the radio in my car does not have a cassette player, it's an 8 track, just kidding.
It's a CD player, anyway I'm tired of dragging the boombox to my Jeep.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I have it.
It could be better, but since I'm on a budget right now it was the better choice (over getting the adapter that you wire to your antenna or car stereo).
In Westchester County, outside of NYC, it took some trying to find a station that had a weak enough signal where the modulator signal could override the normal signal with a minimum level of static.
So it ends up having the sound quality of AM radio, but since that's all I was listening to before they came back on it's not that much of an impact for me.
I use the tape player adaptor in my older car and it works swell, so I leave that adaptor and the power supply in that car and when my wife lets me :icon_mrgr use our new car I just bring along the cradle and antenna, since I leave the modulator in that car.
So in other words, while the tape adaptor is better, and the wired FM modulator is more expensive and inconvenient, the SA10081 is not that bad. Before you buy it check out stations 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7, 107.1, 107.3, 107.5, and 107.7, and see if you can find one that has no/minimal signal/static.
Good luck!

I believe Belkin also makes an FM modulator than can be set to far more stations than the Delphi modulator. If you live in an area where the channels are either broadcast on or has a lot of blled over, the Belkin modulator would give you more options for better sound.

I threw my wireless FM modulator out the window!! It sucks in the Queens/LI area, complete waste of money, buy the wired modulator and deal with the install.

change your frequency on the modulator to a different one - then it'll be fine. if it's wired, then it's not a modulator - it's a direct connection... :)

With the FM mod you just plug in the power adapter, right? I have the cassette adapter now and it works okay sound wise. Ocassionally ejects on it's own sometimes though. I'd like to eliminate the cassette.
