I've been listening all week online and havn't had any problems. Quality could be better but the stream works fine for me over my cable connection.

One thing some of you may be able to do is optimize your tcp/ip settings. there's a site that offers reg mods for ip. http://www.speedguide.net/articles.php?category=93

You're more likely to have dropouts if you are running the high bitrate stream than if you are running the low bitrate stream. If you are listening through plain old computer speakers, it's unlikely that you can hear any difference in audio quality between the two streams (especially for talk radio).

I found that just going to the low speed stream eliminated dropouts for me.

Yeah, it fucking blows. It's choppy as all hell. They actually expect people to PAY for this? It's not my connection to the Interweb that is the problem, because I'm plugged into a gigabit pipe which gets ridiculously fast speeds everywhere else.

XM really fucked up here... what they SHOULD have done was partner with Apple/iTunes/iTMS... apple could have added "XM Streams" to the current Radio section of iTunes (that would only be enabled if you paid for them)... and if you were listening to a music station, there could be a button in the interface- "Like the song you're listening to? BUY IT NOW" and when clicked it would automatically launch iTMS and search for that song (and maybe even other songs by the same band, genre, "people who bought this song also bought these..." type thing). XM (hands down satrad leader) and iTMS (hands down online music store leader) = TONS AND TONS OF $$$. plus they could have "XM Featured Song" on the iTMS homepage, XM would get a ton of subs from the deal (especially if they advertised the NPR/bob edwards angle... like 90% of the mac users i know listen to NPR). then they could further this partnership with an iPod/XM portable unit (would have that sleek apple design that nobody else seems to be able to achieve), could eventually expand the "Buy NOW" feature to the units themselves, apple would provide the content, then the songs would be streamed down via the XM sat receiver... which would mean future car systems would have built in hard drives to store this downloaded content. i could go on and on....

ugh, fucking tools @ XM... dell? dell is great if you're too fucking stupid to build your own computer... oh, and they make some nice LCDs (but i like Apple's LCDs better... too bad they're so fucking expensive). other than that, fuck dell. fuck siruis. and fuck you.

I have been havng the same problems, and it cuts out on both low and high speed streams. Since it only happens on channel 202, I smell the lil' vienna sausage digits of the Oompa Loompa...

Totally agree, HummerCash. Teaming up with Dell by far the dumbest move. Sure, they probably have the market share in # of computers sold, but that doesn't always equate to the best choice...

Teaming up with iTunes would be awesome, you're absolutely right. I like the idea of the "Featured XM song of the week" and the buy now button that many people have tossed around at xm411.com ,but like you, I seriously doubt it'll happen now :(

I dont know what the deal is...I tried it through different players, as well as 2 different computers. It would come up...but never buffer, and get sound.
But my buddy has it on his PC...no problem...

i think I may just say F it and save my pennies for that new walkman style that just came out.
