Picked up the new Skyfi 2 tonight...

I finally tracked down the Skyfi 2 tonight... they had about 10 at the Bridgewater, NJ Cervix City. Start calling around to your local Best Buys and Circuit Citys... be dialin people!!! I wanted to wait for Ziggy, but I happened to be in there for something else and it was there... I had to have it!!!

This thing rules... It's alittle bigger than the Roady 2 but blows it away.

Some highlights:
- 30 Min Memory, it won't save it after you turn off the power, but you can "pause" live audio.
- 4 lines of text, 1) Channel, 2) Artist, 3) Title, 4) Scrolling Stocks or Sports Scores!
- It seems like a stronger FM Mod than the Roady 2
- Instead of saving 20 songs, you can save 20 artists or songs. Meaning once you grab a Metallica song, every time Metallica comes on, it gives you a heads up...

Cost is $130 for the Unit, $70 for the Car Kit. The SF2 is backwards compatible with the Skyfi1 Kits.

This is one of the best toys I have picked up in a long time!!!

i waited till the last possible minute to get XM (Oct. 1st I signed up) because I was hoping to get the Skyfi2 instead of the skyfi. Now, I won't do anything unless something happens to my skyfi. Oh well.

For anyone in the Sacramento area that's looking for a Skyfi2, Best Buy in Elk Grove has around 8 or so. They have the receiver, car kit, and remote in a package for 169. I decided not to wait for the myfi because I would rather have the live 30 min. pause feature instead of recording.

I like the MyFi, but what it came down to was before I spend 350 on a receiver I'd like it to record AND have a live pause/rewind feature. Maybe on the MyFi2???

From what I've heard, its the same bitrate the audio arrives in so there should be no loss in quality. The thing I don't like about the MyFi is there doesn't seem to be a way to listen to a recording while it's still being recorded, like a TiVo. If you want to walk away from it for a while you have to record while you're gone, then come back and listen live, and then later on go back and listen to what you recorded when you were gone.

The 30 min. buffer was just more important to have for me right now. That and the money.

From what I've heard, its the same bitrate the audio arrives in so there should be no loss in quality.
But what bitrate is that about 64?

$130 is the unit itself. $199 is with either a home/car kit which you need.
