Yes, because by not setting the clocks ahead the sun is up less.

My office atomic clock actually set itself back this year. Usually it fucks with me and waits til I get fed up with it not changing after a week, then turns ahead/back after I've aleady changed it :icon_evil
So, the 3 atomic clocks, the 4 computers and the VCR took care of themselves....that still leaves cellphones, pager, stove, microwave, thermostat, cars, watches, answering machine and any other "standard" clock :icon_roll

the purpose of moving the clocks forward in the spring was to give farmers an extra hour to work in the summer, and brought back to normal in the winter so the farmers can have sun in the morning.
the whole thing is pretty much obsolete now

It really serves no purpose anymore. They should do away with it.

It would cost billions in congressional groups to figure that one out! :fight6:

We should do what Arizona does, just refuse to go along with it. It's stupid..

Exactly. Cause without Daylight savings time, the tanners are more than happy to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to get their extra hour of tanning in then, instead of in the evening.

BTW, I looked it up and thats not actually true... daylight saving time in the US was instituted during WWI to save fuel... by giving an extra hour of light in the evenings, you can cut back on energy usage, thus saving fuel and money. Apparently farmers arent actually happy with daylight saving time, and one of the biggest opponents to it in the US is the farm bureau. They dont like it, because regardless of what the clocks say, they are getting up with the sun, and its harder to adjust their schedule when the clocks change.

Thank God. I have to be at work by 7 AM on some days, and it was pitch black out the last few times I had to be in that early. It's so hard to see the golfers when it's that dark that I accidentally didn't run a few over. It ruined a couple mornings, I tells ya.
Good for you guys. I had to work overnight Saturday. Extra hour of work, blech.
