It's been awhile since I ranted here, simply because there was not much to bitch about at my end....until today. Went to vote this morning, walked to the local junior high school. Get on all the right lines. Get up to the table to sign in, and the woman with the "Si, habla espanol" button cant find my name.

Fair enough, so I spell it out for her. "Check under L-E-S." At this point I noticed that shes gone thru the book about 3 times, but she was only looking at the last name on the page. So out comes the ultimate incompetence line: "Are you sure youre in the right polling station?" So I (politely) say, "Yes, the name is under L-E-S." She opened the book and I peek over only to see that she's scanning the L-A, L-C, L-U pages, everything BUT L-E.

Finally I turned the page for her to L-E and pointed my name out. Isolated incident? No. The next individual also had spelled his name out C-A-H. Cunt couldnt find out. It turns out Mr. Cahllahan is less patient than I and after the second go thru (and after he was asked if he was at the right station), he grabbed the book out her hand and said "RIGHT here, C-A-H, like I said!" He signed the book, grabbed the card, and thru the book back on the table. At this point, I was in the booth and out. I kinda wished I stayed around to see how many other people lost their shit.

Most important ellection in our history, and we have this illiterate in charge. Fucking shameful....

Oh, I had an old man go to vote and told the poll worker he couldn't read the sign in sheet. And he thinks he'll be able to read the ballot?

This is why I hate those fucking campaigns to get people to register to vote. I'd rather have 5 intelligent people voting as opposed to a million idiots that don't know what they're doing.

Unfortunately, thats the downside of democracy. EVERYONE can vote, no matter how stupid they are. Altho in VA, they give out sample ballots that look just like the real ones but are filled in for the Dem or Rep votes, so someone illiterate could at least just copy the sheet...

I always get that problem but with people who are like 70 years old and i have been going to the same pooking place for 28 years. But I give them credit for being there above what is called of us what if they didn't help would you spend a day doing that for your right to vote. just a thing to think about

We really need a war on voter fraud in this country. How many counties in Ohio have literally more voters than citizens? A bunch last I heard. Something tells me they'll all be voting for Kerry too.

It's sickening that you can walk up to some jerk at a card table on a street corner, fill out a form, and have them send it in. If you want to vote, you should have to go to the county office, show some ID, and fill out the form in person. Everything else we do requires alot of security and documentation FOR GOOD REASON! But with voting, you have these "non partisan" (yeah, right) groups going out and getting every average moron and illegal alien out to vote for their guy - who, let's face it, is almost alwats the Democrat. The one ACORN group even PAID people to register voters, and in one case rewarded one guy with cocaine. ACORN is a left-wing activist group.

It's truly a disgrace.

yeah, there should be SOMETHING.

they don't even check IDs out here. that scares me. not like California's really got a chance of going anywhere but Dem in the first place, but at least check people's IDs for pete's sake!

This nation was originally designed only for landowning men to vote, so it was assumed those who could vote could read and would care about the issues of the day. It was also designed for the Senate to be the voice of the different state legislatures... But that's not "democracy."

"Democracy" is government by the media.

Actually I find this election coverage quite exciting watching the numbers come in. Not the dribble the news ancors give me.

Even worse, Old Asian Women. Disgusting anomalies. Fucken slant eyed hag had to have her daughter walk in to the booth and help her read the names at least 6 times, a good twenty minutes for her to fucken vote. And it dont matter anyway, it looked like she wouldnt be alive under either of the twos presidency.

Do you really think someone who can't read the ballot can make an informed decision outside of what they see on the evening news?

I love your sig btw, that kid is always eating, no wonder he looks fat.
