Ok, maybe somebody can give me a straight answer and/or any help, if possible.
Due to ongoing comp problems I had to do a System Recovery and in my zeil to get my comp back to shape, I lost a ton of important pics (non-porn you pervs, lol). Is there any way at all to get them back or they gone for good?
Thanks guys.

When you do a System Restore you shouldn't lose any programs or files (porn)you downloaded. It only monitor certain critical aspects of your system and records any changes made. If a critical system file from the Windows folder is modified or deleted, it notes this and keeps the original file intact. Even through you'r pic's are critical to you, there are not recorded by "SR".

Roxio's GoBack (http://http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,58451,00.asp) is a better program to use then system restore.

I hear ya but I think you got System Restore confused with System Recovery. Recovery basically reeverted my computer back to the way it was when I bought it. Programs and everything that were not there when I got it home 2 years ago are gone. I don't care about anything else (kiddie porn and what not, lol) but I did lose some family pics that I never printed that acutally matter (plus my old lady is ready to kill me cause of it, lol). I'm hoping there is a way to go and fetch the old stuff that could be buried somewhere deep in my comp.

Not sure which one but I have Windows XP and I was pressing F10 when I had just turned on the comp to get it started, if that helps define what the hell I did.

Well, not sure what you did. But as long as you didnt sit through a reformatting period (usually around 30-60 minutes) then yes those pic's are recoverable.

Is your file format NTFS or FAT32?

Check g4techtv.com or thescreensavers.com... and the forums there. TSS has done features on recovering hard drive files. Can't remember the details, but they involved 3rd-party programs...

I'm at work right now but when I get home I can find out...but since I'm an idiot I wouldn't know where to look to find that out...suggestions...please? I believe it is listed in the properties of the drive.
Windows key-E, left click drive letter, select properties, and it should be listed somewhere there.

The more time you spend on the computer with the pictures, the more time there is a chance you can overwrite them. I would suggest not doing much and not using the drive that the files were stored before.

Recover4all (http://www.recover4all.com/)-for FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 drives. I would suggest you save it to a floppy at work to bring home.

I would also try some of these programs: (http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery_r.html) http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery_r.html
Save them to a floppy at work if possible.
