XM Honored With Innovations Awards

November 11, 2004

Twelve XM Satellite Radio products have been named as honorees for the Innovations 2005 Awards, which are Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America. The awards honor excellence in consumer technology design and engineering, and the top honorees from each category are named "Best of Innovations." XM earned two such distinctions with the Delphi XM2go MyFi and XM NavTraffic, powered by NAVTEQ.

"We are truly honored to have both MyFi - the first portable XM2go product - and XM NavTraffic recognized as the Best of Innovations 2005 Honorees," said XM's SVP of Product Distribution and Marketing Dan Murphy. "To have twelve products selected as Innovations Honorees is an absolute thrill. Along with our manufacturing partners, Alpine Electronics, Audiophase, Delphi, Eton, Garmin, NAVTEQ, Pioneer and Polk, we are successfully establishing XM as a mainstay in the car, in the home, and on the go."

MyFi is the first personal, portable XM2go satellite radio, and XM NavTraffic is the first satellite traffic information service that enables a vehicle navigation system to display current traffic information for a driver's personal route. Other XM products that were recognized include XM SkyFi2, Roady2 Personal Audio System, and the XM Reference Tuner.

Too bad they were not trying for an award for Promotion and Marketing!

Now it will be months before the corporate tools stop sucking each others cocks to get some work done.
