martling didn't simply leave because he wanted more money. his contract was up and he wanted a raise - the show grew each year and his contribution as a writer, moreso than his on-air contributions, was a huge part of the shows success. hwoard, instead of doing the right thing and talking with his boss as to how valueable jackie was to the show, didn't say anything cause of his ego. so jackie left. jackie didn't resign to a contract that he didn't want, howard did nothing to assist him, jackie had to go.

i'd like to hear jackie on the show, NOT to tell some og his awful joke-jokes, but to talk honestly about what it was like to work with howad all those years and see that howard didn't give a shit about him in the end. it would be a cool interview.

They should really try to get Billy West as a guest on the show. I know he left Howard on very bad terms for pretty much the same reason Jackie did (after years of thankless service he thought he deserved a raise.) He can't be too busy doing cartoon character voices, and unlike Jackie, he's actually very funny. Either way, it would be radio gold to hear either tool on Howard for an hour.

I can say this much for the boys, they would never do to Jim Norton what Howard has done to Billy West and Jackie the Jokeman.

Thank goodness. I hope to God they don't F with the chemistry they have together. Team shows like O&A thrive or die on the chemistry between the hosts. The boys know each other's timing nearly perfectly -- they know what each other is thinking and the direction the other wants to take a bit.

Great example is that Opie almost always knows when Ant is about to launch into an impression and he shuts up. Even Lil' Jimmy has gotten accustomed to their rhythm and rarely do they step on each other.

If you want an example of bad chemistry among hosts, I give you any incarnation of the WNEW Sports Guys as Exhibit A, your honor.

They have enough issues right now without worrying about adding a new presence. Three people on air regularly is sufficient without sounding cluttered. And if they are considering a new hire for regular on-air presence, then it should be a show regular that the listeners "know" and is simpatico with O,A, and Jim. Introducing a new element into a fragile ecosystem like a radio show could be ratings (subscriber) suicide.
