The Frankie Blue airchecks this morning were hilarious. Has anyone heard anything further about potential fallout from the incident? How much further can WNEW sink? Can't wait to hear the boys tool on that place again. It really has gone to crap since they left.
Frankie Blue...what an appropriate name.
I hope that's audio they keep around and pull out every-so-often. Drunken idiots on the air is always funny.
Very, very true. Especially when they're supposed "legends of NYC radio." I just want to know what the WNEW/Infinity suits had to say to this prick with ears. My god, I've know people who got fired for drinking at a station event and were not on the air. I could only imagine what they do for intoxication WHILE ON AIR. He deserves to be fired -- it's the ongoing thinning of the radio herd.
Oh, and for good measure, it would be nice if the DJ that was forced to leave because he made her cry would slap him with a big fat harassment suit.

WNEW/KTU! Nothing as far as I know except it made the Army laugh their asses off.

Well the radio dentist had the usual assortment of narcissistic jizzbags stating their awful, irrelevant opinions. But I'd sooner go to CNN for dick jokes than go there for hard-hitting radio news. Maybe FMQB or R&R will have something on it.

Nice of you to even check there, because the posts on the NYRMB pretty much reflect the same sentiments here - WITH MOST PEOPLE SAYING THEY HEARD IT ON O&A TODAY.

I'm not sure what shocked me more, that so many people on that board listen to Opie & Anthony, or that so many people that listen to Opie & Anthony post on that board. I wonder if Allan Sniffen has an XM in his dental office.

I'm not a huge fan of Sniffen, but there are a lot of people who post good opinions there. There's also plenty of O&A haters, which amuse me, and I think the best post I ever saw there was Allan's smackdown of Gary Heckler Svensen, when Gary tried to make one of his useless attempts to create a grass-roots campaign in getting R&F back on WNEW.

Haha. It's fun to read that board sometimes, if only to just look at the ridiculous topics they post. An actual topic on there right now is "Seeking Info on WPCH Edgewater, NJ circa 1927." Lol.
But yeah, lots of people on there apparently have O&A, as I've seen there names come up in a few topics and pretty much everyone had heard the show. I don't think Allan has either satellite service, because he's asked about things on the O&A show before, requesting anyone who has XM to post it.

That was a great segment. When he screwed up the call sign, I was rolling. When the GM has to come in and get you off the Air, you're pretty much screwed! :drunk:
I do wanna hear how that turned out. If anyone has the dirt, let us know. thanks

There was only one or two posts when I checked it earlier today. Chill with the caps. I can read at a moderate volume.

Am I missing something here? Why were they able to play content from an Infinity owned broadcast today, but still cant play bits from their time w/ Infinity?

C Word Alert - Great question.
I think the difference was because it was Over-The-Air and it's a current news story. O&A bits aren't news stories.

The O&A Army is invading the NYRMB again . . . "The Ghost of 102.7 Past" says: Just remember what Dr. Phil said " When you give something up, you replace it with something else. I guess that what you did by giving up the WNEW call letters for the KTU call letters. And Billy Staples is on there also, offering to be Frankie Blue's AA sponsor.:icon_mrgr

The thing is, Billy's not even goofing. He seriously thinks that he can be Frankie's AA sponsor and somehow grab some more fame and spotlight. He disgusts me.
i was really hoping that he would have said "rue paul is gonna put his big ol cock in there" i dont think id ever recover

John Mainelli's column in the NY Post is all about the Blue incident, and specifically mentions O&A's commentary on it:
'BLOTTO' BIG TROTS OUT 'BLUE' MATERIAL
By JOHN MAINELLI
December 18, 2004 -- Radio program director Frankie Blue, apparently under the influence after an office Christmas party, grabbed the mike during a late-night show on 102.7 WNEW this week — and may have gone off-color.
Bounced WNEW shock jocks Opie and Anthony reported the incident with great relish on their XM Satellite radio show yesterday as they played a tape of Blue's slurring unscheduled Wednesday night on-air appearance on DJ Yvonne Velasquez's show.
But the big question is whether Blue — who had attended WNEW's Christmas bash that afternoon — uttered the F-word.
During four rambling minutes at the mike, Blue — the legendary urban radio programmer hired last July to kick-start the long struggling WNEW — repeatedly promoted a station-sponsored $50,000 contest, muffing his words and mixing up the station's name.
The highlight — as far as Opie and Anthony were concerned — came when a seemingly blotto Blue said station stars Rick, RuPaul and Kim would "pick out a winner, and then they're going to f - - - the winner."
Opie and Anthony weren't sure just what the f-word was, but they had a lot of fun speculating — and delighting in the decline of the station that booted them over two years ago after they broadcast a couple having sex in St. Patrick's Cathedral.
"The station's been in the toilet since we left," said a gleeful Gregg "Opie" Hughes.
Blue was not at work yesterday and did not return a call for comment from The Post.
No complaints about Blue's possibly off-color remark were received by the Federal Communications Commission, according to enforcement bureau spokeswoman Janice Wise.
