I saw this movie about a week after it came out, and I have to say, it was unbelievable.
the cliche "Funny, but it also makes you think" is anything but cliched in this heartwarming romantic comedy. (it actually gave me a nervous breakdown on the way back home, since Braff's character started out emotionally numb in the beginning)
:icon_surp you gotta be kidding me.

Great movie. Especially if you understand Northern/Central Jersey. It was well acted, had very good writing, and was well directed by Zach Braff. Natalie Portman made up for her awful Star Wars acting.

For some reason, IMDB says they have a version of this movie in Klingon.

I rented it. It was OK. Not a life-altering event like some have said. It's just another movie with some funny lines and a pretty good story. I give Braff credit for writing and directing.

I love Garden State. I can relate to the Jersey and L.A. Stuff. Eternal Sunshine is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It is the only serious role that Jim Carrey has ever pulled off. I don't know about oscar. Seems like the only oscar winners are in theaters at this time. People in hollywood have very short memories.

Watch the Truman Show, Carrey was AMAZING in the role.

Sorry, I hated him in that. I felt his performance was forced. He was even worse in The Majestic. Before Eternal Sunshine he was always hamming it up. This is the first time he seemed effortless.

I loved this movie. Written, directed, and starring Zach Braff (JD on Scrubs), it had so many great elements to it for his film debut. It was at times quirky, dark, hilarious, and touching. Natalie Portman finally plays a real character once again after those lame Star Wars movies. She was excellent as an epileptic, free spirited pathological liar. The soundtrack, featuring Coldplay, The Shins, Nick Drake, and Remy Zero, is great too.

Thats because Carrey admits thats how he REALLY acts. Not much acting involved when your being yourself.
