Did anyone see this last night on ESPN. I watched about 40 minutes of it, but was too tired to watch the entire thing. I thought it was great, from what I saw of it.

I watched the first half hour of it. It was like watching the early days of the O&A show on XM. The levels were off, the background noise was too loud. Plus I hate stuff that's 'As If' - meaning they jumped right in As If you knew what was going on. Sure, maybe they'll explain it later, I just won't be watching. Terrible. ESPN should stick to reporting and covering sports, not making stuff up about it.

I thought the show was good, espn2 has a preview special on tuesday night that generally explained the idea of the show without getting in too much detail. I'll keep checking it out, but I also have a completely unhealthy obsession with poker so maybe I'm biased.

That's how I feel too. I don't even know anybody's name on the show besides Michael Madsen. The show was enjoyable though and I'll give it a few more weeks.

I'm disappointed but I'll give it a chance- I loved Rounders and I was hoping it would be more like that. The whole rigged game angle and the thing with the golfer jumping over the table struck me as far fetched. It would be nice if I could see the cards clearly too.

I definitely agree on that, they show the board for about 2 seconds and then don't go back to it again.

I really enjoyed this weeks episode. I do believe I found my latest drug.

Yeah I liked it too, felt like they showed the cards a little better this time around, but you still need to look at it quick. Madsen is doing a great job with the Everest character, and I like how they're slowly bringing the backstory into it.

I fell asleep during the second episode, but its pretty good so far...
There's no way that hold'em is as over the top/dramatic as tilt is portraying it...

Is it? :icon_eek:

This quote (and I'm paraphrasing) is about as good as it gets in describing poker, specifically texas hold 'em. Comes from Tom McEvoy, who won the WSOP in the early 80's (I think).

"No Limit Texas Hold'em is hours of sheer boredom and moments of abject terror."

It's definatly better than that piece of crap football drama they had last year. Ugh, that was terrible... can't even remember the name.

Damnit, I wanted to catch this show. I love Michael Madsen and I love poker. I watched that show "Lucky" with John Corbett before they f'in cancelled it- I thought it was done well and was really pissed when it didn't make it.
