'The Village', been done already! *SPOILERS*

I just heard Jimmy's review of 'The Village' and Lil' Opie's spoiler, and I realized that this story was done before.
I used to work in a library a while ago and I remember shelving a story (the name escapes me at the moment, but I'll try to find it) about a girl living in an 1800's village where it was forbidden to travel beyond the bounds of the town.
She had to risk everything to go beyond the bounds of the town to get help for her injured folks. Once she gets out of the village she runs into a cop and learns that it's modern times and she's been lied to her whole life.
My jaw hit the floor when O&A gave the plot points away. This came out around 2000 or in the 90's.
