Anyone check out this show on Wednesday?
Marti Noxon (writer from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") is one of the writers.
I started watching and it didn't seem that bad, but I got to foolin' around and missed the meat of the show. I'm desperate for good shows to watch. Anyone?

Seth, one of my favorite new shows is "Commited" on NBC. The ratings are not starting out that great, but that show is very witty.

I watched the blind date one (premiere?) and thought it was awful hack comedy. Maybe the first episode blew and the rest is better? I'll try it again.

I'd love a new Buffy type show to watch. I watch Buffy on DVD all the time- I'm disturbed, I know.

If you didnt like the first episode, you wont like the other 2 or 3 new episodes since then. It would just be a waste of your time, in my opinon.

I liked the first couple of episodes of Committed, but I can see it getting stale really quickly. I will give it the benefit of the doubt for a while, but I don't know how long it can last. There are very few good shows on broadcast TV right now. I watch Arrested Development, Scrubs, The Simpsons, 24, Two and a Half Men. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

I can't sit through the commercials for a suspense show very well, so I have 24 on DVD. I watch all the rest except 2 1/2 Men- I can never remember that its on. I love Charlie Sheen.
But I really want to see horror/suspense on tv again.
HUFF is still doing really well. I'm enjoying it.

The West Wing, I love. But its the last season most likely

Two and a Half Men was a real surprise for me. The concept of two guys and a kid is not all that appearing, but the writing is really quite original for network television. There is a lot of dirty humor on there that you really do not expect to hear on CBS.

I'm really going to have to remember to catch Two and Half more often- I never check CBS when looking for something to watch.

I TiVo it because it is up against the second half of 24. 9:30 on Mondays.

Damn, no wonder I never see it. I can't stay up that late, esp. on a Monday. But thanks Mike.

What happened in the second half hour? Was it thrilling?

not really... something about a priest finding some old book and then getting killed when he tried to warn everyone... oh, and that town whore (mom of the lifeguard guy's girlfriend) came onto the doctor and he pushed her away and she fell into some shit and got a bruise and then alluded to blackmailing him.

and a lil off topic, but i saw the OC for the first time in a while and that bartender chick got hotter w/ her hair down... and she munches hot bawx too. i might have to check that show out more often.

Thanks!
I think I'll check it out again. I want to like it so badly. Although, as soon as I do like it, it'll get cancelled. Happens every time. Started with a show... Pasadena? Was that it? Then Miracles. If this one turns out to be good, they'll can it. I know they will.

I'm a buffy addict too. Although I blame Martin Noxon for the crap that was seasons 6 & 7. I thought point pleasant was crappy, but I am totally loving Lost which David Fury (Producer for Buffy and Angel) is involved in. Veronica Mars also rocks in a buffy / twin peaks type way. Check it out, it's on Tuesday nights at 9 on UPN.

Point Pleasant sucked balls. And i loved Buffy and Angel. It was way too outlandish. She was rescued and brought into their house and all of the sudden the 2 girls are like best friends. When she blew up the gas tanks was extremely corny. How she gonna get stuck in a seat belt in like a brand new car. Just push the f'n red button! I was dissapointed cause i wanted to like it.

i watched the first episode and thats it...kinda blew. Completely boring.

Not to mention I was hoping for some (even if they're veiled) local references/cameos/whatever. The devil and God have their final battle at Jenkinson's..........

Well Since it was actually shot in San Diego, and I highly doubt anyone connected to the show has ever been to the Jersey shore, there is nothing jersey about it (other than the title)
I agree that a local reference would be nice. Like a reference to Louseal, the blind Seal in the aquarium be.

I only watched the 1st episode and I just have zero interest.

Too bad, I'm a huge Buffy/Angel/Firefly fan and I would love to see some sci-fi/horror come back to TV with that quality of writing and dialog.

well, biv, you'll get the next worst thing:
A Firefly movie!
it's called serenity. it'll be out in theatres this summer, and out on dvd 2 months later. it was a cool show, though. kind of ripped off Outlaw Star, what with the chick in the box.
