Loved it. The look on that kids face when she gets blasted in the chest was precious. You just know that our new oversensitive PC Hollywood will omit that from the remake.

John Carpenter made the original for $100,000 in 1976. How much did they spend on this one?

I never saw the original, but I have to say... there is nothing too PC about the new one. Unless you do not like that the "bad guys" in this one are dirty cops, there is not much to dislike about the remake. There are some really nice death blows, lots of blood, and pretty much everyone dies by the end of the movie. This is the type of genre movie you do not see anymore. It was very gritty and a lot of fun. I cannot speak for fans of the original, but this was a pretty damn good genre movie in my opinion.

Yes. But does a 9 year old girl get blown away with a point blank blast to the chest from a big effin handgun? This is where my PC comment comes into play. Seems Hollywood has a bit of a problem lately when it comes to portraying young children in such a fashion. Well that and pissing off Muslems, but that's another story.

I don't recall any 9 year old children anywhere in the movie, so no.
You want a good movie for that, watch Hotel Rwanda. Lots and lots of darkies of all ages get killed.

I saw the original on HBO back in the late 70s. only saw it once, but it was a damn good movie. Had love the way the gang worked like a military unit, silencers and dragging away the dead so as not to raise suspision.
I think the new one is banking on the hope that no one remembered the original. I'll whatch it when it comes out on DVD, just hope it's as good as the original, even though the storyline seems to be totaly differant.

I remember seeing the black and white version as a kid! I don't think a copy of that one exist out there. I loved the original and am hesitant to see the remake for many reasons.
