Back at WNEW they were considered pop culture icons.
BUT
Then they had 2 years off, where Anthony stayed in his house, and Opie wandered aimlessly like Cane from Kung Fu. Then the show started on XM where these guys are in bed by 7, up at 4am and either play video games or drink star bucks and kill mice during the day.
There is no real societal interaction anymore with these guys. Everyone and their uncle can crusie websites of news outlets to catch the latest story anywhere in the world.... and then talk about it the next day.
They claim to be pop-culture, but Im wondering if that aspect of the show as evolved without their want?

POP CULTURE ICONS...i don't think so. Heres some Pop culture Icons for you. Jessica Simpson, Elton John, Sponge Bob are pop culture icons. O&A are not, and i think they would rip you apart for putting them in such a group of main stream dullards.

Well I guess I meant they are in the genre of pop-culture. On top of what's hot. In the know.
Not necessarily the icon themselves, but icons of knowing what is pop culture today. They have said this on the show themselves.

"Icons of knowing ..." doesn't make any sense. Icon doesn't mean or imply knowledge at all. It roughly means a symbol of.

i dont get it... do you not like what the show has become?
i'll be honest... i havent listened to the show at all for the last 2 months until last week. when i turned on, i laughed for the duration of the show every day last week... something i didnt do when they first came back with all the gay shows... i feel they hit their stride and things can only get more gooder from here...
but that's my opinion
now... i dont get the purpose of the thread... are you saying they dont relate to you? you feel detached from their conversation? if so, please cancel your subscription... the show doesnt revolve around you

I think someone is feeling a little neglected by the show so he's trying to start a new thread in hopes that the show will mention it.
