Quite simply the most fun MMOG out there. Imagine BF1942 with futuristic weapons and vechicles land and air in a planet where thousands of people fight and battles usually ranging from 50-200 people PER side. Its pretty intense and they got a trial out if you wanna check it out.

I wanted to pick this up but from most people i taked to i got the impression that its pretty desolate these days. If there's a decent number of people still playing id pick it up real fast. CT:S is getting boring anyways.

I dont know what your friend is talking about but the emerald server has an assload of people one especially primetime obviously but do yourself a favor and try it out firsthand before you make an opinion. if you need any more convincing about the playerbase go to the planetside forums, the general discussion forum itself has 100,000+ posts.

I played Planetside as Vanu for a few months. I really don't like it because of the terrible lag and way too easy way to get up in the ranks. It might have changed by now and there's more challenge but I just couldn't go back after playing FFXI and now being in WoW.

The lag has been resolved its very smooth and as far as going up ranks they bumped the BR ranks up and they are always putting new content in as the game progresses.
