After listening to Ant's computer problems on the show, I was thinking about what could be causing the windows to change focus.

Here are a few things that I thought of:
1 - his KVM Switch is a little buggy/too sensitive and is internally moving & clicking the mouse.
2 - (and this is probably most likely what is happening) Some webpages have an auto-refresh built in (like drudge) and his machine could be set up to automatically bring the window into focus when something changes, or when a page refreshes.
3 - when Ant gets into stuff, he sounds like he jumps around... maybe he's kicking the cord... :icon_lol:

Anyway - If I think of other things, I'll add them here... maybe some of this can help him out.

Feel free to add to this if you have legitimate ideas. Keep in mind that without knowing how their Active Directory & Group Policy are configured, we won't be able to pinpoint exactly what the problem is, but at least we can throw some ideas out...

::EDIT::
This thread is purely to make suggestions, it is NOT to complain about the reason why it's not fixed.

I can imagine Steve C having VNC access and messing with Ant intentionally.... though Opie would be an easier target since he doesn't seem as up on technology.

If he's using IE he could have spyware without knowing it from drive by downloads.

No I bet it's EMI or one of his usb connections is being viewed as a serial mouse. Sometimes my GPS receiver gets viewed as a IntelliMouse Serial and it goes crazy because the signal from the GPS info coming in.

::MOD EDIT:: Removed comment about XM

If it's EMI wouldn't Opie being having problems as well? The system is likely locked down to the point that even Steve C. can't get in and fix it.

No - these things would not cause the problems he is having. And this thread is purely to make suggestions about what the problem could be, not to comment on why it hasn't been fixed.

I've worked at IT companies where it takes a while to get something fixed, especially when it's not in the home office. The problem Ant's having does not sound common.

I posted this in the daily thread for that day. I'm thinking the same thing, especially based on the sites he mentioned.

Hahaha, that would be hilarious! We do that at work sometimes. No one has any idea for the first few minutes...

We did the same thing at my job. It got to the point where the victim wouldn't use his computer since the rest of us in the dept were f'n with him. One guy set it up so all the sounds the computer made were YMCA by the village people.

Drove the guy nuts. :)

We were using REMOTE PC to control his computer. :)

I'm surprised they aren't killing each other with net sends and all that...
