Jesus... I am going to have nightmares of that 2 headed freak now. I have been having weird dreams lately as it is... the other night, I dreamt that I was a soldier and I killed another soldier by stabbing it in the neck with a pen, while trying to hide in a movie theater. Weird shit, huh?

That is so sad. I'm thankful that the little girl seems to be improving, but I can't even imagine the pain that the mother has to be going through. It must have been beyond horrible to look into the incomplete child's face everyday for 10 months knowing that there was no chance for survival. I can't help but wonder what kind of attachment she formed. Man, that is beyond heart-wrenching.

Also, although the term used in this particular situation is technically correct, I find it somewhat disturbing that they call the twin that's not completely developed a parasite. He/she is, after all, a human child. Very, very unsettling.

No Mikey, I wasn't referring to you. It was a general observation regarding some of the posts in this thread. I have a pretty warped sense of humor (I'd have to to be and O & A/Norton fan), but it really does amaze me that people find humor in this kind of situation. It's just so tragic.

And I agree with you regarding the Hensel twins. They are amazing little girls and very courageous.

EDIT: I'm only editing this because I feel the need to say that only 2 or 3 posts on this thread actually bothered me. I just didn't want to specifiy anyone in particular. I'm sure most of you could care less, but I felt like I should make that clear.

If my calling it/them a genetic disaster and a two headed freak offended you, sorry. But, that was my reaction and I am honest about it. Do I feel bad for the people involved in this situation? Absolutely, but I am not going pretend that I do not see something mildly humorous in a freakshow sort of way in this. And as far as I understand it, the second head is not another person. It is like a person born with a third leg or something... the extra part was removed and baby is going to be OK. So, it is not like we are talking about a dead baby here... Maybe I am an asshole, but I am honest about it. I don't have the thoughts and then lie about it.

Hon, slow down. I have my opinion, you have yours. I'm just stating mine. It really isn't that big a deal. It's only one of many, many threads on a huge message board. I certainly don't judge anyone completely based on one or two posts. What I wrote was only my reaction. Like you, I was just being honest.
